Cool, I hope it doesn't end up like winamp 4...

You should check them out, I've been doing 2d screenspace gradent work on all my favorate presets.

Btw, if anyone cares, a good way to make a gradent boader is a textured shape the size of the screen, in combonation with a custom waveform, that is at the edges.

The flow chart rocks. At some point we will have to make one for the buffer also. It always helps to know what draws on top of what else graphicly. (also something that includes frame fliping as a means to circumvent post proccessing frame rate drops. [its also cool to just be able to flip along the x or y axis with negitive sx and sy values])

But I guess most of that could just be covered with stuff on milkdrop.co.uk eventually. If I get bored I'll start writting stuff up.

No problem, prob. just slipped you're mind.

not sure what date, there are big things being worked on, but there is a release in the immediacy for a security bug as reported in the bugs forum. I doubt that this bundle will be included, purely because of the speed at which security releases pop up, and I dont think egg has gone through reviewing them all yet.

I assume, as initially stated, this bundle will see its way into 5.1, I think the next release is 5.094. Theres been some creep in the original dates due to additional work being done by benski, but heh, theres nothing fixed in stone anyway, and we all want more out of our downloads than new presets.

The new presets are for Winamp 5.1

So if there is a 5.094 security fix released in the next day or so, then the new presets will not be included... well, not unless i get my ass into gear pretty quick, and if Tag asks me to send him the md package for 5.094 inclusion, heh (in which case, I'll let you know here).

As for when 5.1 will be released...

when it's ready :/

Hmm, by the way, am I also supposed to be including any of the older submissions from page 1 of this thread?

Those are the artists from the first page that haven't included anything currently, that did a year or so ago on the first page.

They might enjoy it if there presets still got in.

"So if there is a 5.094 security fix released in the next day or so, then the new presets will not be included..."

Yea, I already knew that, DJ Egg posted that they wouldn't be included in that fix. I am under the assumption that they will be included in version 5.1 (hopefully )

O yes, and I posted a remix of Rovastar's Fractopia (Unspoken Mix) a few posts ago.

I didn't realize that I wanted the version I did right after the one I posted, as it responds better.

(Notice the only change is in two shapes, making the preset much less dead. This is the one that should be included, not the other. So Rovastar Fractopia (Unspoken Mix) Phat_Speak_When_Spoken_3 Should be included.)

Thanks.

Yes, I can confirm that the new package won't be included until 5.1

Note that there might even be a 5.095 before then, heh.

I've not included every single submitted preset, but most are there. I've also added one or two other personal faves from other packs not submitted here (though not many).

The main thing was to keep the size down. The current package is ~950kb zipped, 3.36mb decompressed, which is still possibly a bit large. Tag has said that he'll probably make a separate NSIS installer to run from within the Winamp installer....

You can download/test the initial proposed package here.
Let me know what you think...

OK folks I think we have enough presets in this thread now. No more ok.

What do you mean a seperate installer?

What a seperate download?

Looks good Dj Egg.

Btw, can you take a look at my last post in this thread. There is a preset in that list currently called Rovastar Fractopia (Unspoken Mix) Phat_Speak_When_Spoken_2.

I forgot that version 3 was what I wanted in the pack, which I posted in the last post. It's not really much different, it just responds better to the music.

But other then that I think it looks good.

@ Rovastar
No. A separate NSIS installer within the Winamp NSIS installer.

@ Phat
So you want me to replace v2 of that preset with v3, yes?

[Edit]

Yes, seeing as they're both very similar, I assume that's what you meant. Done!

@Phat:

Yeah! Haven't been here for too long due to lots of work and volunteering I haven't had time for new presets
But yeah, including of my old presets (last year's packages) would be seriously GREAT!!!

milkdrop.html 61KB (This is already with the Winamp distro but I have updated it with the new authors in the credits)
milkdrop_preset_authoring.html 49KB (documentation reference for creating presets)
q_and_t_vars.gif 46 KB (a pic to go with the preset authoring documenation)
Mr Egg,

Still missing:

Milk_img.ini 13 KB (sprire/images config file)
milk_Msg.ini 6 KB (Text messges config file)
q_and_t_vars.gif 46 KB (a pic to go with the preset authoring documenation)

It causes errors in milkdrop config if you click on the edit sprites or edit messages if the ini files are not included.

Also could you add an updated milkdrop config file with updated settings. See attached (at is in zipped form so unzip).

and that is why I wanted to be part of the beta team.....

I upgraded to 5.1 today. Do I have to hunt down the new MilkDrop presets or are they included in 5.1?
