Cool I dare you!!

I bet no one here is skilled enough to create a stereogramm skin wich will have 3d buttons, timer and seeker...
For more info about stereogramms click here, here and here...

I bet on my 100 mg fast ftp hosting space.

im sure it would be pretty easy to do.

Ok in your Winamp skins directory (C:/Program Files/Winamp/Skins) make a new folder and call it whatever you want then create a new .txt file and put this in...

code:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<WinampAbstractionLayer version="1.2">
<skininfo>
<version>edit</version>
<name>edit</name>
<comment>edit</comment>
<author>edit</author>
<email>edit</email>
<homepage>edit</homepage>
</skininfo>
<include file="xml/player.xml"/>

</WinampAbstractionLayer>

Edit the parts that say "edit" to what you want then save it as "skin.txt" and rename in your folder you should see a new file called "skin.txt" rename it to "skin.xml" then that part is done. Now you need to make a new folder and call this folder "xml" and make a new .txt file and do the same thing but this time copy in this...

code:

<elements>
<bitmap id="base" file="images/base.png"/>
<bitmap id="play" file="images/play.png"/>
<bitmap id="pause" file="images/pause.png"/>
<bitmap id="stop" file="images/stop.png"/>
<bitmap id="prev" file="images/prev.png"/>
<bitmap id="next" file="images/next.png"/>
<bitmap id="eject" file="images/eject.png"/>
<bitmap id="close" file="images/close.png"/>
<bitmap id="minimize" file="images/minimize.png"/>

<!-- Normal -->

<bitmap id="play.down" file="images/play.down.png"/>
<bitmap id="pause.down" file="images/pause.down.png"/>
<bitmap id="stop.down" file="images/stop.down.png"/>
<bitmap id="prev.down" file="images/prev.down.png"/>
<bitmap id="next.down" file="images/next.down.png"/>
<bitmap id="eject.down" file="images/eject.down.png"/>
<bitmap id="close.down" file="images/close.down.png"/>
<bitmap id="minimize.down" file="images/minimize.down.png"/>

<!-- Down images -->

</elements>

<container id="main" name="Main window">
<groupdef id="player.buttons">

<button
action="PLAY"
x="" y=""
image="play"
downimage="play.down"
tooltip="Play"
/>

<button
action="PAUSE"
x="" y=""
image="pause"
downimage="pause.down"
tooltip="Pause"
/>

<button
action="STOP"
x="" y=""
image="stop"
downimage="stop.down"
tooltip="Stop"
/>

<button
action="PREV"
x="" y=""
image="prev"
downimage="prev.down"
tooltip="Previous"
/>

<button
action="NEXT"
x="" y=""
image="next"
downimage="next.down"
tooltip="Next"
/>

<button
action="EJECT"
x="" y=""
image="eject.down"
downimage="eject.down"
tooltip="Eject"
/>

<button
action="CLOSE"
x="" y=""
image="close"
downimage="close.down"
tooltip="Close"
/>

<button
action="MINIMIZE"
x="" y=""
image="minimize"
downimage="minimize.down"
tooltip="Minimize"
/>

</groupdef>
<layout id="normal" background="base">
<group id="player.buttons"/>
</layout>
</container>

then save it as "player.txt" you should now see a file called "player.txt" but your not done, if you look at the parts that say action="something" (something being what the action is) somewere in the lines of code you should se one line that looks like this (w="" h="")edt these so that there are numbers in between the "" so it should lok something like this (w="25" y="150" you don't have to use these exact numbers put in what ever you want) make sure you do all of them but the must be different or you will only see one button, now save it and rename it to "player.xml" and your done click on the "back" button and you should now see one file and one folder...
"xml"
"Skin.xml"
You now have to make another folder call this one "images"
in this folder is were all of the images used that you see in the skin are! In this folder put what you want your background for your skin to be and name it "base.png" you are now very close to being done! You now have to make buttons for your skin you have to make a Play, Pause, Stop, Next, Previous, Eject, Close, and Minimize buttons and there pressed states (the pressed states are what the button looks like when pressed) when making the buttons the names should be...

"play.png"
- this is for the play button
"pause.png" -this is for the pause button
"stop.png" - this is for the stop button
"prev.png" - this is for the previous button
"next.png" - this is for the next button
"eject.png" - this is for the eject button
"close.png" -this is for the close button
"minimize.png" -this is for the minimize button

and the pressed states have to be named

"play.down.png"
- this is for the play button
"pause.down.png" -this is for the pause button
"stop.down.png" - this is for the stop button
"prev.down.png" - this is for the previous button
"next.down.png" - this is for the next button
"eject.down.png" - this is for the eject button
"close.down.png" -this is for the close button
"minimize.down.png" -this is for the minimize button

once you are done the buttons you should be done open winamp ans load your skin if some of your buttons are cut off or you can't see your buttons you made the numbers way to big. my fingers hurt im sure some of the other members will be willing to laugh at me and fix everything.

This is not as easy as it sounds... do you know how stereogramm works?
Two parts of image coming into one to create 3D optical illusion. Try to make moving seeker illusion. Only animated seeker can handle it...and buttons: Every previous button shoud be default image of another. And the hardest thing is a pointer. When illusion works you see 2 pointers... what is the real one? So second pointer shoud be created for pointer inside the illusion and keep same sidtanse as stereogramm perts...

without pressing state it's boring.
There is another opinion: background images with every case of buttons sate ("play pressed + naxt hover" or "stop pressed + play hover")(36 images) and transperent buttons.

I'm sure if it was worth it - no one coul'd do it... it is a great grafic work and needs a lot of expirience in stereogram structures...
