Send a message via ICQ to LeyeZ
Please, can anyone help? I get the following message when trying to play ANY mp3:

[Nullsoft waveOut plug-in V2.02(x86)]
"MMSYSTEM007 There is not enough memory available for this task. Quit one or more programs, and then try again."

I have tried everything, to closing down all my programs but Winamp & nothing works. I'm desperate for ANY assistance!!

Recommended MMSYSTEM007 solutions (courtesy of DJ Egg):

Best things to do:

1. Go to Add/Rem Programs Control Panel -> Windows Setup tab
MultiMedia Components -> Details
Make sure Audio & Video compression, plus MediaPlayer, are checkmarked
If not, place your Windows CD-ROM in drive & let Windows do its thing

2. Multimedia Control Panel -> Advanced tab
Under Media Devices & Audio Codecs
Hi-lite each one in turn, click Properties & make sure they are enabled.
<!-- VCR & Laserdisk = only if you have them -->

3. Reinstall latest version of drivers for soundcard

For DirectX / DirectSound problems
4. Install DirectX v7+ ASAP

None of 1-4 works ?
Trash your shit soundcard & get a new one.

(If none of the above suggestions work, you might try switching your output plugin from waveOut to DirectSound. It's a workaround, not a solution, but it might get your Winamp working for now).

Suggestions 1-4 are from the first of these three links, which probably contain more information (both useful and useless) than you really want to know about the 007 error:

By the way, links to information regarding the 007 error and many other common problems can be found in this thread, which is located in the Tech Support Greatest Hits forum:

If you need additional assistance, please post a reply, and it might be helpful if you included the name of your soundcard.
