Deleting songs and keeping your place in the library list

Greetings: is there a way to delete a song, and not have the list reset to the top? In my situation I have thousands of MP3s, and I'll delete a song on an ipod or on a local playlist and then it goes all the way back to the top.

This is very time consuming as one has to look for their previous position. This is a bad enough problem that it's keeping me from upgrading to the pro.

Has anyone encountered this problem and been able to change it?

bump.

Am I the only one running into this? It's impossible to sort files in winamp.

you're not the only, there's a few threads in the bug reports forum (though that mainly relates to a similar issue when doing a rating change) and not much can be done without an updated version of the library plug-in. this _may_ be resolved for the next client release (though not sure if that's 100% certain).

Does Winamp not care?

I agree that Winamp has to fix this annoying, ludicrous failing. I have WinPro and wonder what reason there could be that takes you away from your list when you simply delete a song. How stupid.
If this is not fixed, I will never get another pro!

because deleting causes the view queries to be re-run and that causes the selection to fail (it's the equivalent of closing and re-opening the view). why it does that, you'd have to ask the original dev team. why it's not been 'fixed' - because its not a simple fix (as every non-coder doesn't understand).
