C00D2EEA Error on WMP

Hi,

Recently we receive the C00D2EEA error when we try to listen to shoutcast streams on our WMP. The extended error is The server redirected the player to an invalid server...

Although the server is valid and is working fine on winamp!

I browsed a long time on the internet to find a solution, but no luck Is anybody here who can help me out?

We don't support Windows Media Player here, only Winamp.
WMP doesn't directly support .pls playlists, which is the format of the streaming playlists on shoutcast.com

The only way to get WMP to play them is to save the listen.pls to your hard drive first, then open it in Notepad to find the actual links to the streams, eg. File1=http://ip#:port and then enter said url into WMP's Open URL Dialog.

The simplest solution would be to use Winamp, not WMP.

If you're getting the C00D2EEA error on the actual stream url's, then check your firewall settings and make sure WMP is granted access to the internet.

Sorry i didn't realise you don't support it :-(

Problem is that some other streams are working good on WMP. There is a problem with one particular station.

My wildest guess would be that the station uses incorrect codec for his stream?

Which particular station?

Maybe that station is streaming in aacPlus format? I don't believe WMP supports such streams.

Other than that, I'm not sure.

If you're bored go here or, if the boredom is more serious, here.

Won't play in WMP for me either, while it plays fine in Winamp.

For WMP they link to an asx playlist so you probably should use that one, but unfortunately the link is dead:

Don't know what else to tell you. You could try contacting the station owner to see if they know what's going on.
As DJ Egg said, we really can't support other players here: WMP works differently from Winamp and may have its own issues.

If you're bored go here or, if the boredom is more serious, here.
