iRiver Lplayer - music goes to root directory

Hi All,

I've just scored an iriver Lplayer - huzzah!

Like heck I'm going to install any of their junky, bloated software unless I absolutely have to. Winamp (v5.541) to the rescue!

Now, when I attach this thing to my computer ala USB, winamp detects and connects just fine.

However, when I transfer some tunes on to it, winamp is placing them in the root directory of the device.

eg.
g:/Band Name/Album Title/track.mp3

Lplayer wants it to be in the Music directory - otherwise the music doesn't get included in the database.

eg.
g:/Music/Band Name/Album Title/track.mp3

I cannot figure out how to change this.
Anybody got a solution?

Thanks so much!

"preferences -> media library -> portables -> <the drive it is detected as> -> advanced tab" and then change the paths in the 'file name format' and 'playlist directory' fields to be G:\Music (followed by any formatting info as applicable)

Thanks DrO (sorry if I stole your name there)...

I'm preparing to look like an idiot, but I cannot find the 'portables' section under 'media library'.

There is one under 'plugins', but I have had no luck there.

Thanks for your help. :0)

Oh, nevermind - I got it

It has to be connected to show that section.

Thanks!

I"m having this problem too but when I change the settings they don't stay. After saving and rescanning it just resets back to the default values.
