skinning and scripting, yes. Those are both in wasabi.dll, which is still closed source.

AOL sees Winamp3 as a failure. So they got rid of the people that produced that failure. It wasn't a failure it was just undercooked. I still blame AOL for forcing the release on it before its time. The later versions were coming along nicely.

hurphm, yeah no shit, I was thrilled with winamp3, and I certanly hope that AOL wises up.

Winamp3 + winamp5 = Winamp8 perhaps?

hell nah.
They dug their own grave but I'd be damned if wasabi.player would disappear because of their stupid mistakes.

A dream now would be to get through this mess and eventually make wasabi.player what it should've been all along and then AOL can only sit back and watch as they realize their mistake as they no longer controls wasabi.

But it's just a dream..

good to know.

the first thing you could do is pick up the SDK and start digging through the Examples and shit, to learn how it's done.
It might look really scary at first but it won't bite you, I promise

Then when you feel you know your way around, there's plenty of already released stuff in the SDK which needs to be updated, so there's nothing stopping you from digging in

As for how to get through the current mess, well noone knows right now how things will go, so we'll just have to wait and see.

I know one thing for sure tho, I won't stop developing for Wasabi during this time.

Logitech keyboard users with problems with the Modern Skin....

Add this line to players.ini and reboot:
Winamp5=key,winamp.exe,BaseWindow_RootWnd,xxx,xxx,X,C,V,Z,B,0,1,Winamp 5.0

Let me know if that does anythign for you. (I no longer have a Logitech keyboard )

I just want everyone to know that Christophe has now made available the latest release candidate in this thread...

Winamp 5.0rc666 here

It's the same release that the beta testers use and is of course newer than both RC8 and RC10. Enjoy!

Don't email or PM me concerning Winamp. Instead, either start a NEW TOPIC or post a REPLY in the appropriate thread in these forums. This will also benefit others who may have a similar question or problem. But before posting, please first Search the forums and read all FAQs and all Sticky threads.

Question about the modern Skin

I like the way that the original WinAmp scrolls the songticker and I like the look of the Modern Skin but don't like the way that the songticker. I would like to know is there a way to make the songticker scroll the same way that the original WinAmp Skin scrolls? Like a setting or registry hack?

Thanks in advance,

George

currently, no.
the only way to make it scroll like in Classic skins, is to create a maki script for it.
