Can't connect to server
I've followed the instructions carefully and read the forum discussions, but still can't connect to my home computer server, which is running Xitami. I've tried changing the port in the Shoutcast window to 8001 and 8002 but it made no difference.
I appreciate any help offered. I have limited networking skills, so please translate into laymans terms. |

what error do you get in the server log. or are you trying to connect to the server from a remote computer?
Each Thursday a new show on Celtica Radio with Darkwave music. Nope, it's not a radiostation just a non stop darkwave music stream WINAMPSHOUTCAST |

There are several log files (xitami, errors, console, access, not one named server.log) so I'm not sure which one you mean. The access.log file has the following that roughly corresponds with when I am trying to connect:
127.0.0.1 - mark [29/Jul/2004:06:44:55 -0700] "POST /admin?1D116D4C HTTP/1.1" 200 6396 "http://127.0.0.1/admin?1D1118EB" "" Or is that just me connecting to the configuration files? |

There are about 25 log files in the Xitami directory and subdirectories, none with the sc_serv name, or anything close. Most appear to be various days logs for errors, access and xitami.

Well, there is no shoutcast directory. Nor is there a file called sc_serv.log anywhere on my computer.
I don't find any log files in the directory where Winamp is located. Winamp is on a different drive than my server software. Could that be a problem? |

Duh! I think I see my problem. The only thing I've downloaded and installed is the Winamp Shoutcast source plug-in. Apparently there's a whole 'nother application I'm missing.
Sorry to waste your time. I hope I won't be back... |

Okay, okay, have your laugh. But I'll tell you right now, having four cats, I know exactly how to handle "NAK" errors. Pick them up with a kleenex and flush them.
![]() By the way, which is worse? The 12-year-olds with questions or the 48-year-olds like me? Thanks guys. |

to answer your question, as the 38 year old man i am , i'd rather have the old guys , they have more understanding and don't want everything solved within the hour. ![]() Each Thursday a new show on Celtica Radio with Darkwave music.
