Let us supply/force codepage.

Since there is no support planned for Unicode, let us specify what codepage Winamp should use it it's options.

I have 600 songs with Japanese characters. Winamp can't even see them normally. If I set my Non-unicode language to Japanese my REVERSE SOLIDUS (backslash) becomes a YEN sign throughout Windows. A good compromise is to let us force a codepage just for winamp.

"Since there is no support planned for Unicode"

Says who? Where did you get that idea from? Some post from 2+ years ago maybe?

Unicode support has already been initially/partially implemented,
with plans to fully implement it eventually (over the coming months/releases).

I've been Googling, searching the forum and Wikipedia. They've all let to the same conclusion. Unicode wasn't going to be supported. I really hope it is supported soon. As soon as possible.

Just to be clear, we're talking filesystem/general unicode string support and not just ID3 tags and the like?

I've read that, but it doesnt suggest any possibility of fixing it. Either way I can't read Japanese so I don't want other non-Unicode programs and dialogs to be Japanese.
