S: alternative to PACEMAKER etc. (speed up playing)
Hi,
in search for a nice plugin to speed up mp3 files (recordings from my local radio station) I found PACEMAKER - speeding up works, but as soon as I change "tempo" and "pitch" it starts to clip a lot ![]() Is there another plugin I can try? I wasn't successful with Google... |

Thanks!
I tried the best four or five from there too, but some where buggy, some didn't do what I wanted, and some showed the same clipping as PACEMAKER... ![]() Maybe it's because they are all quite old? Compatibility problems with Winamp 5.x? |

I don't think so. There can be compatibility problems (eg. when using modern skins), but I don't think that would result in clipping... (not entirely sure though...)
You could try these DirectSound output tweaks, which are recommended when users have general playback issues. You are definitely playing mp3 files right? Not a stream? |

I tried that too now, but it didn't change anything... guess there are too many possible reasons - thanks for your help, at least speeding it up without pitching works

In the last days, it got worse. When I updated Winamp to the latest beta version even far worse: Winamp crashed when I started PaceMaker.
Today, while listening to streaming radio online, I removed quite a few files from the Winamp folder. Old plugins, plugins for features I don't use, etc. - then I installed PaceMaker 1.32 again, and it now works again! ![]() |
