notes?

I thought ther ewas a way to add small text file ("notes") to the ipod but I can;t figure out how. is this one of the features missing from the plugins?

I just added a pretty large number of audiobooks to my ipod, and there are several series that I need to keep a list of what order to read the books in. I'm sure I can find workarounds (I could sync a picture with the list for example), but it seems the best way to actually consult the list on the pod would be to use the "notes"

nevermind, looks like you can simply drop them in the iPod in drive mode

Isn't that what playlists are for?

Maybe.
Playlists think in terms of "songs", I think in terms of "albums", so I gave up on playlists a long time ago and is not a feature I ever use for my music, so I guess I didn't think of it.

OK, for notes you can use text2ipod. Make a large textfile and vonvert it with the program: http://homepage.mac.com/applelover/t...ext2ipodx.html

nothing in particular. drag and dropping simple text files answered my original question.
I'm not sure I'd ever want to read a large amount of text on my iPod but I'm trying to stay informed in case the need ever arises.
I was just curious if there was a windows or linux equivalent t to text2ipodx.
I saw that some websites claim to package your text for you in real time...

I often have te same use case as you (multipart audio books etc.), and I always use playlists for that. I saves you the extra step of switching to your notes and back...
