The Winamp SDK and ape/avs files

Got the winamp sdk. Was trying out the example visualization in the folder \vis\vis_avs\apesdk. I build it, all is well. Looks good in winamp.

So I go to mess around with the code, just change a line or two but this time when I rebuild the project I don't get a .avs file . I can't find it anywhere. I'm checking out the project settings and I can see the only file that gets created is the output file which has a .ape extension . I know I'm missing something here but I can't figure it out. How does this example generate an avs file? Any help would be appreciated.

.avs is the script, .ape is an extension for the avs plugin

Ok so I think this is making some sense then. The ape file is generated by building the example. Who generates the avs file?

.avs files are created using the avs editor in the avs plugin's configuration (since the avs file is essentially a text file i believe holding the relevant actions, etc for the different effects used with it.

ape's add extra functionality to avs such as text scroller's, etc from what i remember
