How To Upgrade Without Losing Preferences?

I just upgraded from 5.05 to 5.06 several days ago and now 5.07 is released. Don't get me wrong, I love the updates, but was wondering if there was a way to upgrade without losing my preferences (bookmarks, hotkeys settings, other settings). If I don't uninstall my current version and install the newest version over it, what would happen? Thanks.

Well, just upgrade over-the-top. You won't lose your settings. Same as you had probably (or should have) done when upgrading from 5.05 to 5.06

Some programs, such as Firefox (or at least it used to), have problems when installing a new version over an old one. People may carry that mentality over to Winamp.

People may also carry that mentality over from Winamp3/Wasabi.Player - which you HAD to always do a clean install of - but is NOT necessary with Winamp. The only time it IS necessary is if you have a technical issue that can only be solved by a clean install, or if you want to post a Bug Report (to be valid, requires confirmation of a clean install with NO 3rd-party plugins).
