Horrible Picture Quality

I downloaded a .avi using bit torrent but when I go to play the movie the picture is super pixulated i.e horrible quality. Any advice would be awesome

Don't get videos off of BitTorrent, then. If the quality is bad then there's nothing we can do about it. Bad quality is bad quality, there's no fix.

If the source file has bad quality, the only real way to fix it is to re-download a better-quality version of the file. You cannot simply download a program/plugin to add the lost information back into the file. Unless you are going to manually edit it frame by frame, it just isn't technologically/physically possible.

All you can do is use postprocessing.

Most codecs have options to smooth out blocks or add 'artificial film grain' to hide them.

ffdshow, which can decode DivX, XviD and many other formats, has a whole bunch of filters and can also be used as postprocessor for other decoders (enable raw under codecs).
