I didn't have time to read all 4 pages of this thread, but the only time Seti@Home uses bandwidth is to download and upload the WU's from/to the server. When you've got a fresh WU on your hard drive, whenever your computer is on, it uses whatever spare CPU power you're not using to process them.

edit:

I have 5 WU's completed!! (I joined a few days ago)

I average about 8 hours a WU.

yeah, what eleet said. and with the commandline client, you can download hundreds of work units at a time, and upload them when you are ready

How do I go about doing that? Because I find it troublesome that I have to upload then download with each completed WU.

sorry about my lagging stats over the last 3 days... I've been installing gentoo. I now have seti working under linux so expect a 50wu day from me any time now

And On that day, the Lords of the land said unto their Master Architect, "The temple you have made to the gods of Wasabi and Maki has brought us no great prosperity" and they sent out him into the lands.

As he traveled to a far off land, he found he wasn't traveling alone, but that he had gained companions, and when they found their new land, they started work on a new temple, one that would be OPEN to all who wanted to worship.

I've decided it's not worth the fire risk of leaving my computer on over Christmas when no-one's going to be around. I do have a 360MHz UltraSPARCII (I think) running it from work though. The next mile stones are 250, 500, 750 etc.

My WUs are going down over the Christmas period, as I've got a guest staying in the spare room - so needless to say all of the computer junk is being turned off when I'm not using it....

Damn, my average daily results has slumped from over 7 before Christmas to 1.3 now. But never fear I have my computer back on the trail. I think this little 360MHz ting was doing alright to get 2 WU's back several times .
