WinAmp Folding@Home?

Hey guys, I saw a HUGE thread dedicated to Seti@Home, but I ran some searches and found nothing on Folding@Home (aside from a few posts in that mammoth SETI thread). Anyway, I was wondering if anyone was interested in this program. It's a distributed computing program run by Stanford Univeristy just like SETI. Basically, you run protein folding simulations for them and teh results are used for medicinal research in order to find cures for related diseases like cancer and Parkninson's. If anyone is interested in the program, please let me know and I can direct you to additional information. With all these members, you guys would make one crazy folding team!!!

Thanks for letting me know!!! I couldn't find anything on it anywhere on teh forum though... guess most people here are SETI fans, eh??? BTW, the Stanford stats page has no record for that team number. Are you sure that's it??? I searched it and found nothing.

What is a forum conservative? Is that the equivalent of a moderator?

Forum Conservative means he has a conservative point of view. He isn't a mod or special in any way, other than that he sucked up to a mod to get the custom title.

No I didn't vote for Bush, I'm Canadian. And yes that's my point of view up here. The republicans are too shady of a party to support in the USA.

No fellas, this thread is not about Canadians - it is about a noble cause called Folding@Home. Please stop posting off-topic rubbish in here that will get the thread closed.

Anyway, what is the team name, do you know??? Maybe I can find it that way.

This seems more important than SETI, I'm in.

Alex Jones: Do you want the puppet on the right or the puppet on the left? What a bunch of garbage; liberal democrat, conservative, republican. It's all there to control you! Two sides of the same coin. Two management teams bidding for control, the CEO job of Slavery, Incorporated! The truth is out there in front of you, but they lay out this buffet of lies. I'm sick of it, and I'm not going to take a bite out of it, do you got me?

Guys, I still haven't been able to locate your team on the Stanford site. It simply is not listed anywhere, and I have to say that I don't think that it actually exists, contrary to what some people here are saying. There is a possibility that Stanford only shows the top xxxx teams, but I don't think that's the case. Someone shoudl square this away before you all begin changing your teams.

I understand, but Stanford did not miss it in the updates... it simply is not there. I ran multiple searches for the team number and the team name. Please, check for yourself. Until you can show it to me, I will have to skeptical. Forgiev me, it's my scientific side

I second that notion, I couldn't find it either in the stats page.

Exactly what list are you trying to join??? If you're talking about the stats... there is no joining. You shoudl simply show up there, and so should your team, if you have been completing work units. My point was that you don't show up, so it would seem like this team does not really exist.

That was not there before. You have only turned in two work units as well. Did you just create the team yesterday or something? That would explain why it wasn't on teh stats pages at the time... it only shows up if you have turned in some points.

Anyway, it's there now for anyone who is interested.

You guys have over 170,000 members??? Sheez, that's ridiculous!!! If just 5,000 of you started to fold, you could outproduce every other team that exists!
