I'm turning steps is so slow... one step every 35minutes or so. Plus, I usually dont leave it on.

And I would have liked it more if they submitted work units after every 10 steps, becuase I somehow deleted mine and have to start over.

Well, something like protien folding doesn't have quite as many fanatics as finding ET. Its a tad bit less romantic. Good luck though!

Yeah, I know it doesn't sound as cool, but it is significantly more useful IMHO. If you want to know why I feel that way, I will tell you. Otehrwise, I am not interested in starting a flame war, which is definitely what would happen, despite the fact that my reasons for preferring folding to seti are 100% scientific.

The Stanford stats get updated every half hour or so, but you won't show up until after you turn in your first work unit. Also, the stanford stats aren't very good. You might want to check out http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/ for some better stats. They are by far the best on the net.

Do your old WU's get changed over to your new team? I won't be submitting my next one until tomorrow sometime. I got some really big ass one the other day.

No, they won't get changed to the new team. Kinda sucks, but it is fair, considering that you didn't complete them with this team.

Yeah, actually that's about right... you got a really big one, so 60 hrs sounds about right for completion time.

Argh I hate this one! Before it was measuring progress in steps such as 10000 out of 1000000 steps. Now this one is going by Completed a frame (1) up to 400 eventually. And they take a lot longer than those step ones did. pure evil.

I've now got 3 boxes folding (my PC at home, my PC at work and a duel Xeon server at work) Now I just need to get it on some more of the servers at work and on my old UltraSparc to get some good amount of workunits.

Yeah, but those big ones are worth a ton more points that those little gromacs you were folding before. Check out my FAQ in my sig. Somewhere there is a link to the project list. You can see how much the project you're working on is worth there.

You will get some that take about 5 hours though, so it kinda evens out. Those ones are only worth about 20-30 points, so the ones that take 2.5 days but are worth 250 points really aren't that bad of a deal IMHO.
