That was probably the start of it, watch it closely after that, ZZ is smiling and saying something to him, he walks off and the Italian carries on saying something, and then BANG.

Whatever he said must have been really really bad to provoke that kind of reaction.

Cracking headbutt though, would never have thought to go for the chest myself....

This isn't about Rooney, this is about Zidane

And in a lovely twist of irony, Zidane is named the best player of the tournament....

I think it would be fair to say that he was the best player of the tournament, from what I've seen. The fact that he was a colossal dick at the end is reasonably minor in comparison.

How about we put masks on both of them painted in the colors of their countries.
Insane Zidane Vs. Materazzi le Raciste

I'm sure Zidane is pronounced differently but we could pronounce insane to match it

From what I've read, he did deserve it more than anyone else even though he committed historical suicide there.

Is this a French thing ?
Didn't Cantena lose it completely at Old Trafford one time and kick the shit out of a rival fan.

Personally, I think it has probably enhanced Zidane's reputation. Italian footballers deserve a good slap now and again.

i think that case (headbutt) it is more like conspiracy to me!
Italy use this tactics to provoke him and win this cup, at any cost!
just only my 5 cent an opinion!
See you next 4 years from now... maybe the referee using the video methode!
Adios!

either all the referees are fucking morons, or italy paid them off..

i'm choosing option 2.

I think fifa should force injured players off the ground in an interchange(even if they're faking it) and limit interchange to 3 or 4 for the whole duration of the match.

if you get injured after all the interchanges are used up then too bad.

this would prevent teams like italy from simulation.

yes i'm still fucking bitter.

I'm right there with ya. If the stretcher comes out to pick up your cheating ass, then you get on it and come back to field at the ref's discrestion. That was probably one of the most annoying things at this tournament.

Bastards. I used to like the Italian side...
