Thanks. I will try right now to see if I can duplicate your pic from scratch (I'm sure I can). Also, as for the background colour, I'll make it the median colour of the two background colours for the posts.

Just make the image with white as a background. Then define white as the transparent colour in the finished pic. That's what I did for my sig and for my smilies.

Damn, this isn't transparent sorry. If someone knows how to make it transparent in Photoshop 6, please tell me how. I forgot.

I use Photoshop, Fireworks (a great program to create sigs and buttons, by the way), and the EyeCandy 4000 filters. It's so easy, especially with Fireworks in conjunction with the EyeCandy 4000 filters .

Bungie could you apply a tranparent for some of us here whith a certain annoying white hallow around our sigs.

That pic of that girl, enhanced by you, looks pretty neat . What program did you use? Photoshop or that IPhotoPlus?

Well, referring to the transparency - which actually only works with GIFs - what do you mean exactly? Usually, when you save the image for signature-purposes, it'll usually be a white background. Unfortunately, in some sections of the Winamp.com forums, the background of the forums themselves is not purely white. Other forums are entirely white, others ain't. Well, maybe my eyesight is just bad, but anyways, in order to prevent this, add a transparency layer to the GIF to get rid of the annoying white hallow around sigs. I used Fireworks for this and just created an 8 bit GIF with a transparent background and saved it with indexed transparency (you can also save as alpha transparency, which basically looks the same).

Actually, can you please tell me the exact signatures that have a whiteish glowing around?

I am not an expert in this , but as long as the results look decent, I'll be happy with it .

Peace.

usually a php generated image(sig) will have a white glow arounf it, but thats why i added a random color feature to mine, it looks better

im also working on a way to use the rand() for just single digits in the colorallocate string so i can control the range of colors to an 'inth degree.

NukePeng:You gotta upload the image to your website server, ten put a link to the image in your signature with the following text.
[ IMG ]picture url here[ /IMG ]
Then put this text (without the spaces in the tags)into your sig.

PieSupreme:I can make you a sig for you.

Omit Name: I'm playing around with transparencies now with GIF formats, if it works, I'll fix up your sig pic.

All you gotta do is just find another server to put the pic on. ie. f2s or geocities.com

Unfortunately, the only transparencies I can make with Photoshop are with GIFs but they use a max of 256 colors, which makes em look realy really bad.

I will reinstall my Fireworks and see if I can make transparent BMPs or JPGs but if someone knows how to make good quality transparencies (so that the pictures dont lok like the've been chipped or something) please post how you do it in here please.

Thanks!

Alright, I downloaded your sig and played around with it in Fireworks to make it transparent / make the annoying white glow disappear, but I had not luck . The JPEG compression of your sig is too high, causing horrible artifacts when adding indexed or alpha transparency.

You'll have to make it from scratch and add transparency before you finally save the sig pic.

Peace.

Are you talking about PieSupreme's new one? I was all of a sudden inspired Take note that it's just at the limit (14.9kb, ~15300 bytes)

Anyhow, thanks! I think I'll unofficially keep making sigs on demand... I'm just not going rush or try to have 3 projects going simultaneously

Here's the photoshop .psd. Both Fireworks and Photshop 6 can open em. I figured I would just give you the source file so you could have more control whilst you play with the settings.

Thanks man for your help!

@ 31337-2k2: Alright, I made it !

I just downloaded your signature as *.psd Photoshop format, opened it up in Fireworks 3 and applied indexed transparency to it, and saved it as 8 bit GIF with an optimized pallete - It looks great, with transparency, finally . So, no matter what background color there is, your sig will never have any annoying whitish glow anymore.

Here goes the GIF, it's ~7k. I hope you are satisfied with the results.

Peace.
