Religion itself isn't the problem.
It's when two different religions get together and both try to prove themselves right that the problems start.

Nope, but this well-done before/after set is on page A6 in the Sept. 13th Gazette:

Sorry for the bad quality. Have YOU ever tried putting a newspaper in a scanner?

I've just saw on TV that wretch man who lost his wife. He's showed a record of her last words on the answering machine... she was telling she is in the burning building... but the hardest thing to hear was her last "I love you..."... Rest in peace...
I wish every terrorist bastard fry in hell.

Seeing people leaning (and even jumping ) out the windows of the WTC was the worst thing, knowing now what happened to them next. The messages I've heard now on the radio of people saying their last goodbye are even harder to take.

I'm not American, so I can't know exactly how this feels for many of you, but this has definitely had a profound effect on me. Even more so since my gran passed away on Wednesday evening. I'm well aware of how it feels to lose a loved one.

What I have no appetite for is this idea of gaining some terrible revenge by death or torture. Talk about democracy and being civilised means nothing if you end up wishing for the killing of the perpetrators in cold blood. That is what dictators do. It's a very human reaction but at the end of the day the only democratic and civilised thing to do is to bring those responsible to justice, completely by the book. Only then do you break the cycle of violence. These fundamentalists (whether justafiably or not) were angered by past American aggression. Future American aggression in retaliation to these attacks will only condemn future generations to the same situation we have now. That's why, IMHO, however hard it might be, we have to rise above these scum by showing them what proper justice is.

Sorry to ramble on. Ghandi sums it up best:

Note: This thread was real long so I didn't read thorugh most of it.

I walked in to 2nd period keyboarding class of Tuesday (Remember that it was Tuesday) the TV was on and the teacher told me the U. S. was being attacked. I saw the towers both collapse. I saw The Pentagon burn. I got an email about 200 firefighters who died. My Biology teacher said at minimun 20,000 are dead. I think we should declare war on terrorism in all it's forms. I've been away from the forums since school started. Tommorow at a local football game the bands from the two schools will unite in the middle of the field and we will play "America" with the Colorguard holding about 30 U. S. flags. Tommorow at school we can break the dress-code to wear red, white, and/or blue. I don't know what else to say.

Gigabyte is temporarily away.

It was the fireball from all the jet-fule that dumped into the second tower that like.. melted the steel support-dealies (i'm not an architect) thent he whole thing gave out, and the rumbling from that did some serious damage to the first tower, and many, many other buildings..
This concludes hawk's "probably science moment" for today.

then again, i didn't lose anyone, so i'm probably not the best to be saying this
I think someone who has lost someone would probably let their emotions control their actions.. "We NEED to go to war now" ..As far as anyone is knows, this could have been an all american job.. (but it doesnt look that way..)

If I may indirectly quote Amanda from Muchmusic (whom I am deeply in love with)

President Bush mentioned a "Quiet, unyielding anger", and while you're being bombarded with pictures and videos of buildings being hit by airplanes, and falling over, It's only natural to feel anger, and fear.. But more violence is not the answer..

How will sticking a nuke up the ass of any country that ends with "stan" help our current situation?

"Can I just remind people that Muslim does not equal terrorist."

This is true too, I'm not a Muslim myself, but a mosque in my province has gotten alot of threatening phone calls, and that news about that cab driver* just sickened me..

In closing.. This raises the bar considerably for airport safety, which is good..
but it also raises the bar for terrorism.. Think of what could be next..

PS. No one is sure that bin laden has anything to do with this, thought it's very possible..

*the kind of person who attacks anyone who looks or sounds (or is) middle-eastern because Bin Laden may have been involved in tuesday's attacks DESERVES a plane through his forehead.

I may be wrong, though; after watching TV for the past 10 minutes nobody has said anything about it.

eh, heh.

even if hes not and even if the real criminal isn;t found. Bin Laden will be puniched beacuse Bush has to blame some-one after promissing the nation that he'd find the one behind the act.

I've got enough of TV.
This was not an attack on the US.
This was an attack on whole civilization.
It was also a great crime against humanity.

Yes, that's absolutely right & everybody realize it.
But the Trade Center was in NY, NY is in USA. That's all. And I don't think it's time now for rephrasings. It's time to unite.

Yes, unite, but not attack other innocents living in the same countries as terrorists, instead, help such people, and maybe they'll not hate so much..

steady, no. He is the PRIME SUSPECT. It's always possible that the group of extremists that carried it all off were independent of him. But yeah, essentially he's the one behind it because they've traced the kamikaze pilots back to him...

No.

Although in the past terrorists have often entered the USA through Canada.

Recently an arab linked to bin Laden was caught trying to get a shitload of explosives into the US.

maybe the person who said that the WTC could withstand a 767 was one of the terrorists. someone shoul submit that post to the FBI and maybe they could do some research on it.
