Venom Skin Problem

My Volume Always Seems to be stuck at 20% using this skin. but with others its left on full. is their a way to fix this?

do you know where the volume control is? do you have a mouse scroller buuton?

yes, i always leave it at 100%. but when i use this skin it drops to 20 every time i load it and i have to raise it back up

Yes, it is annoying when a skin drops the volume, or as some other skins do, delete your playlist to put something there they put in their skin. The last is worse and happens with some sponsored skins.

Those sponsored skins that removed your playlist to play their file, usually a video, have been removed.
They never played the video in Winamp 5 and as such were incompatible with Winamp 5 and in need of some updating.

Maybe they'll be back in a renewed state, maybe they won't.

Any skin that changes the winamp setting/configuration like that probably should not have a place in the data-base IMO, will bring it up with Admin when it happens again.

I don't like a skin changing my volume settings neither, but did not unpublish it. It would be a good idea to correct that problem though, as, like I said, it is very annoying.

Your problem is probably linked to the boost mode in my skin and it is not linked to any other outside source. The skin boosts the volume to 100% and ups the preamp. The skin just remembers the volume where it was left at before boost. That might be the problem here.

okay.. so how would i turn it off? i never seen the boost mode option

Hey Raiden1803, I am the author of that skin. This is the first time I have heard of someone having this problem with Venus, but that doesn't rule out that there could actually be an error somewhere in there.

It's odd that you say it drops the volume when you load this skin. The reason bieng that none of my code changes the volume "on load", it only actually changes the volume via script when using the volume controls on the Sphere and Handheld modes.

Let me get some info from you though. Do you find that it does this in any of the modes (normal, handheld, sphere or shade)? Do you have a color theme applied? Have you messed with any of the XML/script/graphics in the skin yourself? What version of Winamp are you running? Do you adjust the volume by mouse wheeel, by clicking/dragging on the skin or possibly even keys on your keyboard?

Let me know, we'll see if we can track this down.

QuadHeliX, i havent seen a boost mode in the options so far. where is it and is their a way i can fix it?
