Minecraft - Admit it
no need to lie, i doubt i could find a single person who hasn't heard of it.
and for those who've gotten in on the half price (around $10, just in euros instead) cost while it's in development. what's the most impressive thing you've built in survival mode (not creative since you get infinite everything)? personally i've built a bit of things, but nothing elaborate enough to be worth posting, i started an ice structure though on my winter map is about the best have you found any dungeons and plundered their chests yet? yep, only two total though, they're not easy to find have you imported any dwarf fortress maps (read the official forums it's not easy though) yet? i wish i could say yes, but dwarf fortress just made too many attempts to be user unfriendly for me personally, i never got very far with it. figured out how to make redstone door switches where either trigger item (floor plate, switch, button) will open/close the door regardless of the second switch's on/off state? i wish, well beyond my ability however also, notch knows a lot more than he lets on, refer to any pic that includes his eyes if you can't see it, what do you think it is that he knows? how to develop a great game and kick off his business company at the same time, maybe, can't help but think theres more to it though. (it's a similar affect as: http://images.encyclopediadramatica....Cover-tom2.jpg ) I hate everyone, so you don't have to. |

I kept playing it and then deleting it. It's addictive as hell, but goes too slow and get's overwhelming. I want to explore. And if I die, I can't even find where I was before? Ugh. But great game!

see for yourself.
it's on average three times cheaper than games that are many many more than three times as worse. i've yet to hear about anyone who tried it out that didn't immediately get sucked right into it. I hate everyone, so you don't have to. |

Hehe tried Minecraft free version now, but I really can't relate with games like this. I'll rather play my old faithful Minsweeper.

I played the free version, it is fun, but somehow it couldn't keep my interest.
My brother on the other hand is an addict, and constantly shows me things he built. Its a fun, innovative game anyways, I hope we would get more of them, instead of the same old same old. |

Lump me into the group that just doesn't get it. I can invest maybe an hour or two in this game before I quickly get bored. I'm not a programmer, therefore I don't understand redstone, which means there simply isn't a whole lot to do before I get bored.
This is a sig of some nature. |

Yeah I play, survival all day every day. I don't find the game much fun on the easier difficulties so I am usually on Hard or Hardcore.
Most impressive thing built? ![]() These walls they span across my map, they are my main mode of trasportation. Every 22 blocks there is a "tower" inside which is a bed and a small wheat farm underneath. |

damn, i tried to take screenshots of my logistics pipes crafting wall and auto smelting chests, but i'm not sure where technic saves screenshots and i can't be bothered to figure out for sure.
at any rate, you should try technic + logistic pipes + forestry sometime, it's a lot of fun and both of those can just be dropped in the mods folder so it's a cinch to install them, i've been having a lot of fun with thaumcraft too as well lately. [edit] also i almost forgot, but typically when i run out of ideas for things to build i'll watch a bit of direwolf20's lets play episodes, he comes up with some really good ideas to get you going and he explains how to set things up while he's building it usually too [/edit] I hate everyone, so you don't have to. |

I'm not too big a fan of the technic pack. Though that is only because I tried it and just found it too complex.. I don't know it just wasn't fun for me.
I'm just waiting for my plugins to be updated for 1.3.1 so that I can update my server... Enderchests and villager trading for the win. I've also been curious about writing my own plugins though I don't think I'll ever jump into it, I've always wanted the ability to "hire" villages to do simple tasks like manage my farms and work my multiple strip mines. |

gonna be a hell of a wait for 1.3.1 mike, mainly since most mods are skipping that to be directly compatible with 1.3.2.
as for technic/tekkit vs vanilla, eh, it's been years since vanilla held much of an interest for me, been there, seen that, a few hundred times over, just really nothing left to do in vanilla for me is all, if not for mods i'd have stopped caring a long time ago and now vanilla just seems to simplistic. here's whats left of my crafting wall, amazing what a single misclick with a destruction catalyst can do isn't it? both sides of the wall used to be included in the crafting wall for logistics pipe + a glass ceiling over top. ![]() and this would be the innards of my auto smelting/sorting/storage system, there's a chest just out of the shot to the right that acts as the input, the rest are the sorting output, you can also see where i tried and failed to setup a forestry carpenter to auto-crate things for more compact storage. ![]() and here's a hopefully even better look at the breadth of my storage system, you can see i've got storage blocks for most metal included in the crafting pipes logistics system from screenshot number 1, diamonds are like pennies in this world and i haven't been transmuting stuff with equivalent exchange either, i do have a gem of eternal density which compresses your inventory though so a good mining haul is measured in dark matter, i think i bring back about 4 per trip if i try, plus a ton of other metals. ![]() [edit] there's no way to allow the images to collapse then i guess? oh well fuck it, frames be damned, broke ye shall stay [/edit] I hate everyone, so you don't have to. |

Fuck you and your frame breaking!
Nice setup, that sounds interesting indeed... What are those greenish torches? A new type of redstone?? Greenstone? |

they're called interdiction torches, they cost a diamond or two each to craft but they actually physically propel mobs inside of their light radius away, that's why the base is open air with no doors yet completely safe at the same time.
the round things on the walls are teleporters from thaumcraft, the ones on the floor heal you. that world isn't quite legit though if i'm honest, i cheated myself a destruction catalyst right off the bat with NEI. here's the torch recipe so you can see how much they cost, the thing in the center (an EE item called the philosopher's stone) isn't consumed. ![]() I hate everyone, so you don't have to. |

Holy cow those are expensive torches... But with what they do they sound well worth it. I might jump into mods someday, but for now I'm happy with my simple game mechanic server plugins.
Lapis teleporters for the win... Requires 8 lapis blocks a wood door and a chest. Put the chest on top stack the lapis in a manner so that you have an enclosed 2x1 space throw the door on the front, make another, and put one of the same item in the chests of each teleporter and bam you have your self instant teleportation... |
