Wanting to start my own 24/7 online radio station

Hello All.

I have been DJn on ustream and justin.tv for a few years. Unfortunately they have been using commercials now and ads. Its really annoying and I dont want any part of that. SO It got me thinking and I wanted to build a website that is dedicated to streaming music 24/7 with live shows and archived mix's.

My question is where do I begin? How do I begin? What is the most cost effective way to do this without sacrificing shitty low bitrate streaming? Do I build my own server to host all the data [songs] on or use a streaming service? What streaming service should I use? [im located in Philadelphia PA]

A friend of mine showed me a company http://www.shoutcaststreaming.us/

Are these prices normal? If I wanted to stream at 128kbps and wanted a 50 person limit I would have to pay $55 a month. That is something I DONT want to do. Seems way to pricey to me.

Can anyone give me advice, knowledge or point me in the right direction?

Plenty of hosting companies can be found here,

http://www.radiotoolbox.com/hosts/ & http://www.broadcastingworld.net/reviews/hosts/

Bandwidth doesnt come cheap it just depends on how you purchase and manage it.

Heres a nice tutorial on webcasting that may give you a better idea.

hmm seems a bit expensive. I am able to purchase server space from my boss. I work for a internet based company. Now I think he said I would be loging into linux which i know nothing about.

I already purchased my domain.

Now I just need to be able to setup some auto dj program to stream my library of music when I am not playing live.
