Maybe this...

In addition to ^that^, close & restart Winamp after the DirectSound tweaks. Although not necessary, you may want to close Winamp, Windows and restart the computer. Some users have found changes don't fully take effect until a reboot.

OK, I am glad you got the issue resolved. If you don't mind me asking, what did you do the fix the issue. That will be helpful info for others with a similar issue.

no problem

well, the problem was with the headphones,i use windows 7 and i have just reinstalled them and i didnt install my sound device drivers because the sound was good, and then when the volume was over 85 % (or any "louder" song) the sound was lagging, every 2-3 seconds had 2-3 seconds break, so i unplugged the headphones and the speakers worked without lagging, so i downloaded my sound device drivers and i had this option in control menu "disable the front panel jack detection"(translated from my language) and the description says "if front panel jack detection dont work as it should, check this option" , and i checked this and now it works fine, BUT the volume you change in windows BEFORE i installed the drivers speakers and headphones were separate, now its only speakers and i hear everything on headphones as on the speakers but headphones are on front panel, so i assume the sound device drivers get it "together"

btw. i have realtek's high definition sound device (cant see the actual model (if there is any of course)) and you just download these if you have "realtek high definition sound device" DRIVERS

P.S. the link is too long so i make it to look like this
