I have no idea. I does work better if they are on the same machine.

h264 content cannot start playback after pausing until it gets another 'IDR key frame', which may be several seconds.

Back with good news. After you posted Red5 .9rc2 with patches I thought to try it out, just to see how it works as a shoutcast server replacement. It worked almost perfect, no stops at all in flowplayer, nor jwplayer.

The only problem was they had no sound... just went on for 10, 20, 30 minutes but nothing. Tried every volume option there was but still no sound.

After some headaches I tried my red5 (out of the box) installation with your plugin but this time as a server and this one has no sound problems. Works perfect with both players and with no interruptions at all. JWPlayer takes longes to connect to the stream but that's not really a problem.

The downside is that I can't stream to winamp or other players too (using listen.pls and so on). Your plugin (used as a shoutcast server replacement) is just for rtmp streaming, correct me if I'm wrong.

But I've found a workaround for those who want to stream to rtmp and to winamps (or whatever) at the same time ("the old fashion way") by using a second output and encoder in the dsp plugin:

Using shoutcast server on it's normal port ard red5's shoutcast server on some other port.

It uses more cpu power (it doubles for winamp => 10% in my case) but it works.

Hi.
Many thanks to Smelter for that piece of code.

I have installed red5 and this shoutcast red5 app.
red5 connects to shoutcast as a listener but when I connect to red5 from vlc nothing happens.
Even the red5 access log remains blank.
I have forwarded 5080, 1935 and 8443 ports at my router.

Any ideas?

Sorry, I really cant help with servers that are setup on home modems. 1935 is the port needed.

I hear nothing but trouble with VLC. whether it is red5 or VLC, I dunno.

'flash'

Trying to connect to war location
Net status: NetConnection.Connect.Failed

Like I said, I do not/ cannot debug any server that is set up on your local host home PC.

If you have a live public server or know how to configure the home-modem your self, then possibly. But as a general guidline, I cant help you unless you have a real dedicated public server/vhost.

Let me repeat...

If you are setting up red5 on your home ISP/Modem.
I will not be willing to figure out what you have done wrong.

I dont know what is the problem, red5, codec choices, port forwarding, non-http traffic refused.... fire walls... you name it...

It is far too big a headache for me. If you have a REAL LIVE DEDICATED server with a real HOST, I can do many many many tests.....

Get it?

show me your shoutcast server IP and I will subscribe to it from MY red5 server.

Every time I ping or tracert your IP or Host, I am refused by your modem...

gotcha

h**p://sub.myz.info /livestream
stream is now working with jw player 4.6, v5.0 failed.

I am using red5 revision 4012 and I can have only one listener at a time.
revision 4015 was supposed to solve that but when I installed 4017, jw player could not connect at all to red5.
hope this gets solved.

awesome Costinio, thank you!

well, the rc2 on my web site downloads page can handle multiple users.

I think I know why people have so much trouble with JWPlayer.

I do not measure bandwidth.

is it compiled with some special option?

about jw player, it uses a checkBandwidth() method that is not supported by red5 thus causing problems. I should ask in their forums how can this be disabled...

Hi guys.

Just tried the latest svn build of red5, which fixes a lot of issues for h264 (e.g. the single listener bug).

I'm not quite sure whether it breaks shoutcast or it is broken itself. But you can't connect any shoutcast source (stats do work) due to an NullPointerException (service not found)

Just wanted to let you know

New application available at my downloads page.

http://www.thebitstream.com/?page_id=13

Now includes its own player.

Will list the configured stream names+status and has url link for meta data url.

if you create a folder shoutcast/streams/ , and put mp3's and flv's or anything else flash can play nativly, after start-up, they will be listed too.

Example of live app.

just tested your shoutcastRC3.zip
have you removed the /shoutcast/stats path from the app?
I also get exceptions at red5 logs for this.

Looks like I did something to make 'stats servlet' break.

Its actually a service call now for flash remoting.
PHP Code:
neConnection.call("user.getViewerCount", new Responder(callBack));

function
callback(count:int):void
{
trace(count);

now is a good time to get into action script programming
