Is there available any 64 bits version of Winamp?
Hello
I'd like to know if Winamp has any 64 bits version available, so I can download it? Normally 64 bits applications run smoother than 32 bits ones, so it would be nice winamp has a 64 bits version also. Is it available? Thanks |

there is no 64-bit version available and i wouldn't expect one (as has been mentioned in multiple threads over the years). there is no benefit to having a 64-bit version of Wnamp - only downsides as instantly all existing plug-ins will not work with it (would need native 64-bit built plug-ins as 32-bit plug-ins cannot be used in a 64-bit version).

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 64 bits applications run smoother on the system, I had vista 32 bits and now seven 64 bits, and I can find the difference, my computer is so fast, it is like if it was new. A winamp of 64 bits would be great... ![]() |

you cannot compare an OS to a program. and going from Vista to Windows 7 will make any machine instantly better due to the OS itself using a lot less RAM to do things.
a 64-bit Winamp would be about as useful as the Winamp for Mac beta currently is. also there is nothing in Winamp which would really benefit from being a 64-bit compile, just more disadvantages and people complaining that plug-ins won't work in the 64-bit version and that the devs suck, etc etc (as has been seen with the Mac and Android apps with the Winamp name on them). -daz |
