OMFG!!!!!1 Winamp 5 $ux b411z!!!!!

WOW, I have never seen anything this bad!!

I play my first track, not too bad. Then I drag another file into it, it fades into the new track. Hmm, interesting feature. However, it soon becomes tiresome. How the hell do you turn it off??!??!?!

It gets worse! The same feature is used on pause. Whose smart idea was that????? I want immediate silence, instead I get a second of fade out... then a second of fade in - i.e. I lose part of my track. Wow, that's great! I'm listening to an audio book, or a translation CD, and I've missed half a bloody sentence!!

However, the REALLY awful bit of it...

I noticed a crackle on a track. Hmm, dodgy conversion methinks. But then it happens on another track, and another, and......
Wait! I'm sure that track played fine in WMP..... yep, it does. And it sounds brighter in WMP too.

So, why the crackle? Sure, I can EQ it out, but that's not the point. A GOOD stereo doesn't have EQ! Why should I have to EQ out the imperfections of this software??? WMP plays the tracks fine.

In conclusion...

WMP 8, nice. Never had any problems. In fact, never had any copyright issues arise with WMP 9 when I tried it. Winamp 5, P.O.S.!!!

If you require instructions on how to configure Winamp properly,
so that those features/issues are disabled/fixed,
then post in Technical Support and politely ask for assistance.

But if you're just going to bitch because you don't know how to configure Winamp properly, then I'm sorry, but you've come to the wrong place.

kthxbye

this thread "was" whacked...I think they reopened it to make OMFG feel like the complete dolt he is.

FFS people...do a little research, learn the program before you bitch. winamp seems to be optimized by default for mid to high end machines. If you don't have a kickass machine you gotta reconfigure winamp

What a dumbass.

You can easily turn off the fading, and selecting DirectSound will probably fix the crackle, at the most a small buffer tweak.

What a dumbass.
