SHOUTcast stream Artwork?

SC2 has a "Stream artwork" on the admin page. But the documentation (section 4) does not mention this.

Where do we specify the file, and turn on it's display?

streamartwork=streamart.jpg
streamartworkdisplay=1

There is also "Playing artwork not available" but that is a whole different matter.

Split from http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=281192 which was from the v1 DNAS times

the artwork is controlled by the source with the current revision of the 2.0 specification.

however client support of the feature is a bit intermittent - the Source DSP has some bugs i need to fix and the Transcoder isn't properly passing it through / providing it to the DNAS.

and not forgetting that no clients actually use it at the moment - just haven't had the time to implement support into Winamp.

Stream artwork and Playing artwork are using the same system, it's just a different identifier used so not too sure what you mean by the 'that is a whole different matter' comment.

There are several different ways to get the album artwork, through the mp3 tag itself, or API's like Amazon or Last.FM. We have developed a script that pulls the artwork from Last.FM and works with any SHOUTcast stream. PM me for more details

Hi tommyinnn,

Sorry I think there a lot of peoples interested in the file to bring Art-Work in SC2 to work.
I'm one of them. Please be so kind and PM me your Link.

I was trying https://github.com/gwutama/php-lastfm with not much success.
My-be I make a mistake.

I would really like to see this stream artwork working. I expect there is many others as well. We could all get out radio station's more publicity

it does work as long as the source and the client are able to provide and handle it i.e. it needs everything running on the v2 protocol. there is a compatibility hack that still needs to be implemented in the 2.4x DNAS so v1 based clients which support in-stream metadata will receive an appropriate url on the DNAS to use (assuming it supports the field).

UltraVox 2.1 protocol question: Is there a maximum size for the album/station art? i.e. is it dependent on the negotiated maximum payload size?

"If you don't like DNAS, write your own damn system"

So I did
