System Tray

Sorry if this has been presented / answered somewhere else, but I couldn't find it. Now that v2 is console-only based, is there a way / option to hide the command prompt within the system tray rather than constantly having it in the taskbar?

It's not a matter of life and death; I've just had it sitting in there for a few weeks now and would like to put in the tray rather, if it's possible. Even some type of non-Shoutcast workaround.

Thanks.

At the moment I can't think of anything other than that the SHOUTcast tools (both sc_serv and sc_trans) can be installed as an NT service that load at boot. In this state though they aren't visible at all. Something to consider.

you could try one of the unofficial gui's which would act like the old v1 gui wrapper so it'll go into the notification area (not systray).

i had started working on a more official gui wrapper for the v2 DNAS / Transcoder for Windows clients but haven't touched it in some time (plus needed to work on some 32 vs 64-bit handling issues) and probably won't look on it again until the next v2 DNAS drop happens since there's been a lot of changes on what the DNAS will report which i'd need to add support in for which i'd prefer to wait to be stabilised before adding in support for them.
