Winamp 2 Anime skins section?

Is it just me or is the Winamp 2 Anime skins section really not working? Whenever I click the link for the Anime category skins it just says "We're sorry, your search did not return any results. Please try your search again..." How can a link!! from the site say that there are no search results??
Anime skins are my favorite so please, can somebody tell me whats going on? Thanks!

Site must be b0rked again, there seems to be probs with the car section too. I tested a few other categories and they seemed to work, so im guessing its another database stuffup.

Now I've been playing with PHP and mySQL, I can appreciate the Winamp db must encounter by its sheer size. Yes, it's a bitch. But now it's brought to our attention maybe it'll be fixed soon.

Blackdog, you don't get nearly as much results when you actually search for Anime than when you klick on the Anime link! So,sadly, thats not a good solution to the problem.

Great! Another week has passed and the Anime section is still offline. Is it so hard to fix a broken link? Posting in the forums wasn't such a big help too. So where the heck am I going to find such a big variety of Anime skins now!? *sigh*

I know that site! And I've already downloaded most of the Anime Skins! So that's still no solution to the problem! Maybe I should send Winamp some user feedback?

Well, now at least I know that I'm not the only one who wants the section to back up. But still, that won't solve anything. If the link doesn't work 'till March I'll send Winamp an E-Mail to ask what exactly is going on! If someone want's to do it before me: There is a link just below the Winamp logo on the bottom of each page.

RFF, Bilirubin, gentle Browsers (I hope, I really don't need to invest money in a bullet-proof sheild for my house), you must understand that there are about 1/3 of the people here at winamp forums who even watch anime, and less who care about the skins. In March, all you're going to get is a lot of nothing, unless someone finds it worth their while to fix it. And even then, why would you want to waste your time downloading crappy skinner skins, when you could have so much more? (By the way, Lightning-Amp v1.0 is at http://saotometakuya466.***********/)
So you see, there is no point in getting the anime section back, because the skins there suck anyway.

Hmmm... Now this is weird!! Saotome, do you know that there is a VERY popular Anime character whose family name is the same as your nick? And you say that Anime sucks! FUNNY coincidence, don't you think? Well, whatever. I just want to tell you that there are A LOT of people here in the forums and that even 1/3 of them is still a VERY large group! So who are YOU to say that theese Skins suck? Not to mention that some are REALLY beautiful!! Oh!, and I think the authors of the skins, which spent many hours to make them, would feel very disappointed to hear someone say their skins suck! I don't know if you are aware of this, but it is quite hard for someone to make his own skin. So some skins may really look a little crappy, but hey!, everybody has to start from SOMEWHERE! And who knows? One day the same guy who made a very crappy skin, might be the author of the most downloaded skins on the net! I have no idea what kinds of skins YOU like, but I'm sure that you wouldn't be happy if they'd disappear from the www ,now wouldn't you?
I like Anime skins, all my friends like Anime skins, and I'm sure that MANY other Winamp users like Anime skins! It just feels good to see your favorite Anime charakters on your Winamp. So I just wanted to help all those who think like me and ask for support. That's all! EXCUSE ME, if I caused SO much trouble! I just thought it's worth to try! *sigh*

Saotome didn't say anime sucks, he said most of the skins on Winamp.com do (which is true, most of them are just a picture stuck behind standard template buttons. these skins do not take many hours, they take few minutes)

As am I ^_^ There are some good anime skins out there, but it sure takes a lot of sorting to find 'em...

Since the skins are still there, if you already have some you like, look at the readme (it appears in the skin browser window when you open it) and try an author search.

There's also a few good anime sites that have non-skinner skins and artwork, though the only one I have currently bookmarked is primarily an Inu Yasha one.

Since youve brought the Fuuko Chan skin topic up: Some of my friends (a lot of em actually) love your skin dimichan. I have a habit of e-mailing links to good skins I stumble upon (read : the skins in everyone's sigs) and of all the links to the skins I've sent Ive never got any replies for any of them except Fuuko chan. It's the most popular skin around here.
BTW it's also my mum's fav skin.

Hmm. Modified skinner.exe?

Don't rate your own skins. You are allowed to rate your own skin once but it's better not to.

Yeah, its a modified skinner.exe. I've tried starting from scratch before, but I could never get everything to line up quite right or the colors to match. I might go back to doing that, but I would need alot of pointers.

Start with Skinner's Atlas (see below), it should help you to line up the different components.

Many who live deserve death, some who die deserve life - can you give it to them?
Then be not so quick to deal out death in judgement.

http://forums.winamp.com/showthread....ighlight=Anime

Check out that link if you want to see if I'm an anime fan or not, RFF. I also happen to be a skinner, but I, unlike 90% of the skinners whose anime skins you've seen, do NOT use a skinner.exe to make a skin with 3% effort and 97% crap. Just look carefully at some of your "beautiful" anime skins. They aren't done quite right, and they may even have errors. I'm not asking you to stop liking anime skins, but I am asking you to stop bitching about it in the forums, because it isn't worth your time. When you realize that most people don't watch anime, and some of you so-called otaku only watch Dragon Ball Z, and some even think that everyone's favorite annoyance, Pokemon, is anime. I am the quintessential anime fan. I watch everything anime, and my favorite is the Excel Saga, which you probably have never heard of. You need to learn that complaining won't do you any good, and it can do you some harm. Around here, the worst that can happen to you is that people will put you on their ignore list, or the mods around here will get sick of you and ban you. You would do very good to not question anything that happens around here. They'll fix it when they fix it. Until then, just stop complaining. It will do you some good. I don't want to hurt your feelings or anything, but you are one very small cog in the machine. I am too. I just know when to listen, and when to say something, and when to just shut up.

By the way, dimi-chan, I checked out Fuuko-chan, and I loved it, and so does one of my friends.

Again, by the way, Bilirubin, listen to Jellby. He knows what he's talking about. I still haven't got one of my skins published, but that doesn't give RFF the right to tell me what to do on the forums.

And one more thing, my name doesn't come from Ranma or Genma Saotome, it comes from Takuya Saotome, who you have probably never heard of.

Holy Crap Saotome! I have so much more respect for you now. That was awesome. Laudate omnes. Whats your favorite thing about Excel Saga, I'm kinda collector of anime and I'm always looking for new ones to invest in. Currently my favorites are Berserk, Cowboy Bebop and probably Trigun. I'm currently working on getting, the rest of Berserk, Escaflowne, and buying Princess Monoke. I hope you succeed in the rest of your endeavors and find some peace in grading crappy Winamp skins. Peace...

Anime = japanese animation.

As far as I know, Pokemon is japanese and it's animation, so it's anime. Heidi and Marco are anime too. Maybe that's not the kind of anime you love, but it is anime after all.

Excel Saga...God, it's been weeks. I'd have to say that I really enjoy the fact that it's just so fucked up. I mean, they kill the writer of the series in the first episode. I think you have found a winner with Trigun, and I'd be watching it more often if my high school's anime club didn't say no to anything that's been televised in America, even if it's only something we heard about on www.AnimeNation.com.

My computer is going through some problems right now, but other than that, I really loved Fuuko-chan, dimichan.

[edit]Ahhhh shit. Why can't I ever remember this shit before I hit the "Submit" button? Does anybody know how Atmo got the "Paint it black"on his short profile? I was thinking of signing up for a new account, to sorta start over, but I need to have something where Atmo has his "Paint it black" and I don't know how to do that. Does anybody else?[/edit]

[eitparttwo]Why is it that whenever I get to the edit screen, I can't remember what I was gonna say? Oh yeah. Does anybody know whos idea the "Revenge of the Ninja" theme was? I have to send them a thank you email.[/editparttwo]

I don't think they're ever going to repair the anime link. If you're suffering from anime withdrawnal, I found some niffy sites.

Looking for the Anime section? It has been renamed to "Animated", but for unknown reasons it does not work quite right. However, if you click on the link:
http://classic.winamp.com/skins/brow...goryName=Anime
And then replace Anime with Animated, you'll have access to this category.
