Another Avatar contest?

Some of you remember the last avatar contest. I thought it was kind of fun, since avatars are fun to make - and judging by how often many of you change yours, I take it a lot of you find them fun to make as well. Is anyone interested in having another avatar contest? Just a small affair, no prize, just for fun. For those who don't remember the last one, the idea is that everyone involved has to make an avatar for another member (assigned randomly). No one knows who is making avatars for whom until the contest is over. At the end, everyone votes for the best avatar. Once the winning avatar has been chosen, everyone finds out who made which avatar. So, who's interested?

Sow a thought, reap an action; sow an action, reap a habit; sow a habit, reap a character; sow a character, reap a destiny.

First I'm just finding out whether enough people are interested. An avatar doesn't take that long to make, even a good one, so I'll probably make the deadline about two weeks or so.

No, please, not a week, I'll have a rather busy month, two weeks might be fine, but one week is too short. Two weeks + a weekend is my proposal (although I'm sure I'm going to make mine in a couple of hours )

The grammatically incorrect and ambigous part which started with "how" and ended with "avataring" But nevermind, it seems Jellby knew what you meant. I agree with him - one week is too short - especially since some skin-love members only come here on the weekends, some only during the week, and others irregularly...

I'm in. I havent done any graphic work in a month , my wa3 project is at a complete standstill and I've quit wa2 skinning. Also, I did badly in the last contest. I've gotta prove my pfx skills.

You forgot to mention the rules ( for those who dont remember):
The avatar should be 50 x 50 image with a maximum file size of 2000 bytes. The avatar can be animated or static.

Oh theres just one rule.
And the voting rule :
You cant vote for the avatar made for or by you.

20k, not 2000 bytes. That's the max size that this site will accept. As for the rules etc., don't worry, all will be explained when there is actually a contest in existence. At the moment, it's looking good, but we still need more people to be involved. And before this thing goes official, I'm going to need all those who want to take part to promise that they'll do their best to come through with the goods. Because it will be uncool if someone has made an avatar for someone else, yet it turns out that no one made one for him/her.

Sounds like fun, and maybe it'll get me back to some serious skinning, cause at the moment I'm a bit burned out.
I won't win but you can count me in. now all I have to figure out is how to make a decent avatar without throwing some star wars in there

It's great to see so many people entering. I'll start the contest officially early next week. Let's say Monday. This will give some more time for others to join. If you want to join, please post here ASAP. However, people who join later than Monday can still join - just PM me and we'll sort something out.

OK, be prepared: the contest will start on Monday - I will outline the rules again and randomly assign everyone a person that they are to make an avatar for. I will pm everyone and let them know who they will be making it for (keep it a secret!). Every person will be making an avatar, and also will have an avatar made for them. The deadline will be about 2 weeks after that. It should be fun

If anyone thinks they won't be able to make it, please say so before Monday. Because once the contest starts, someone will be assigned to make an avatar for you, and wouldn't it be embarrassing if you yourself didn't have an avatar to give to anyone? Well, just kidding, but it would create a bit of a hassle if someone pulled out midway.

Sigs have to be under 15k. Otherwise the mods will tell you to remove it - that's what they did to me. Get it to an appropriate size and send it over - I'll host it for you.
