i think 2 week for an avatar is just abit overkill when it comes to time. but then again the colab skin has been taking years i guess some pple just like to take it slow.

Yeah, I guess it is a while. But the main reason is that, with 22 people involved, I have to make sure that everyone will have enough time.

It looks like soon I'll be one of the only ones that hasn't started

Oh man, tell me about it. That 20k limit is a real S.O.B. (I haven't started my avatar, but I've had many headaches with it in the past)

If you host an avatar instead of uploading it, is there any way to enable it to be bigger than 20k? If so, I can host everyone's and we can all be done with this stupid limit. I've tried hosting one above 20k once, though, and it didn't seem to work, but I'm in no way sure that the kb size was the problem there. Does anybody know?

Wont work, as the avatar is still temporarily stored on the forums server, so the 20k limit still applies. I tried it myself ages ago.

I dont really see a problem with the 20k limit. My current avatar is around 100 frames i think, and its ok...Just...

That's because most of the frames are very similar to each other - only a few pixels need to be redrawn. My current avatar is a slideshow of 15 still frames. It was going to be 16 frames, but that made it over 20k. 16 frames is not much at all.
Almost every animated avatar I've made has had to have compromises made. But anyway, nothing we can do about it...

I'm going to make mine now, and - trust me - it hasn't been in any way affected by the 4 avatars I've seen so far (it was always going to be tailored to my avataree anyway, so the other ones are kind of irrelevant). The only thing that's changed is that I now already know that I'm not going to win

But I already had the main idea for my avatar before the contest officially started. And I'm not going to take part in the guessing of who made which one
