I installed Winamp without extra plugins (exept German language support) on my notebook (233 Pentium, 64 Megs). After it worked fine for a time, it now sometimes crashes the system as soon as I hit the Play button. Sometimes I get a weird error message from waveOut plugin v2.2 (OUT_WAVE.DLL) about some not recognized file format, but all I use are normal m3u-playlists and MP3. (Sorry, cannot reconstruct the exact error message at the moment)

What is still more remarkable: After 10 to 20 crashes, all of a sudden I get this error message, and after clicking OK, Winamp works again!!

Any help?

Thx, Nexo

Prefrences (Ctrl-P) -> Plug-ins -> Output -> Select "Nullsoft DirectSound plugin..." -> Hit Close

also check Tech Support Greatest hits for the error you got.

that should work
