Sending still to winamp video box.

I've come across streams that stream audio only mixes but still come up in the 'Winamp Video' box displaying a still image, and also with a winamp visual in one corner. Can you tell me how they achieve this ?

I noticed this thread 2 below but am unsure on whether that software does what I ask.. If it is please tell me, or if not what can I use http://forums.winamp.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=152

Many Thanks!

Stu

I really dont know what they use. I've seen most everything from screen capture to some killer active x programming.

I can make you a custom still with a gradient and simple text for $25. It works with the other PIP software I made.

If you want something more advanced that loads some bitmap or has built in screen capture, I can do that also, but its more expensive.

Well i've achieved very similar to what I ask myself with HTMLview and wmp with .asx

I dont think that kind of scripting will work with winamp though.

The still and audio I would think I can somehow work out...

But how the heck is the little winamp visual (thats sync'd to the audio) work!

hmmm I was hoping I could do something server side on my VPS

Very similar to what this person asks http://forums.radiotoolbox.com/viewt...a434bebe3a0f33

Eg the streamer pipes in the audio which combines with the still, or short video loop of a still, and the two are encoded together and sent to shoutcast server.

I guess the only way is for the source(streamer) to send it all in one themselves?

No, there are a couple ways, and what I was offering is the easiest.

I have a 'virtual' camera that you can use as is for free, or you can pay me a small fee to customize the colors and text, or even add special features such as chat for the viewers.

It takes very little cpu power to run only the 'camera'.

using this thread....

You can install the camera driver, and need not use the mixer.
