Shoutcast 1.9 shutting down (sort of) randomly
I have a dedicated albeit budget Ubuntu server running two instances of Shoutcast 1.9. I have SAM streaming into one of them at 192, and then custom-built downcoder that is streaming into the second one at 128.
This is the exact same setup I had running fine on another budget host until someone pulled their plug. I quickly shifted everything over and it all ran fine as well, but then I noticed that the SAM software couldn't connect to the 192. It was still running, and listeners could connect, but all they would hear is about 10 seconds of the same audio. Stopping and restarting shoutcast solved the problem. There's nothing in the logs to indicate anything going wrong. The problem sometimes happened once or twice a day, sometimes just once a week. As I'm getting ready to shop around for another host and to attempt to set up 2.0, does anyone have any ideas for what might be causing this?
Thanks!
