New user having problems setting up Shoutcast server

Well im new to all this of Serverhosting and stuff like that and i have the problem with hosting a server on SHoutcast...i was told i had to have winamp 2 but i have number 5 and i cant seem to find it anywhere

IF winamp 5 is compatible then there must be a setting ive done wrong. I followed a thread that another user posted here which had the same connecting issues but i followed those steps and still nothing...same errors

Secondly if there is a Winamp 2 somewhere could someone please tell me where to download it?

Thanks in Advance
Quon

Make sure you are running the SHOUTcast DNAS too. And you have the correct IP and Port in the DSP.

Nothing. Have you actually installed and ran the SHOUTcast server? What does the server log say?

Yeah, as said earlier, you need to read more.
The window you open that has all the 'sleep' things in it. That's your DNAS log. Paste what is happening. We can't see it from here so can't help you.

Hey there, Quon.

In order to help you we'll need to see your log. Check out the amazingly-awesome picture that I spent hours on that I've attached to see exactly where you can get that info.

Just connect to your server and start playing music as usual, wait about 5 minutes, then copy and paste what's in the log here.

[edit]Disregard. This info is irrelevant. All those hours on that screenshot, though.........wasted.[/edit]

sleeping means it isn't 'hearing' anything. Make sure your entire playlist is mp3 or use soundcard input.

having problems myself

well i went through alot of posts and alot of *** lol and i've broken the nak thing but now i keep getting [yp_add]error connecting to yp.shoutcast.com.

Settings:
SrcIP=127.0.0.1
DestIP=ANY
Yport=80 (also tried 666)
PortBase=8000

By the way when the port is set to 8000 it jumps to 8001 and that gives me the nak error, although if i set the PortBase to 7999 the port will jump to 8000 and it will give me the [yp_add] error connecting to yp.shoutcast.com error and all ports needed are open (7999, 8000, 79, 80, 665, 666) by the way it also jumps 1 with the Yport so i have to go 79 - 80 or 665 - 666 that is so it will hit 666, 80, and 8000.

Also im on a Linksys router.

Screen shot when i set the port to 7999.

You broadcast on 8000.. the DNAS 'listens' on 8001.
Nothing wrong with that config.
