wmp and clustering

I am using an asx stream with shoutcast - i was wondering if clustering still works here.

It seems to me that using the pls file determines the secondary locations that the file is coming from when streaming.

So since this data is not present in the asx stream, is it pointless to cluster if you are not using winamp and just wmp?

regards

note: i should mention that i am only trying to cluster to provide extra capacity of the same quality - not to provide lower/higher bitrates

I don't see why not.

code:
<asx version="3.0">
<title>TITLE</title>
<entry>
<title>TITLE</title>
<author>AUTHOR</author>
<ref href="http://yourIP:yourPORT/"/>
<ref href="http://yourIP:yourPORT/"/>
</entry>
</asx>

Wouldn't this do the trick with your .asx file?

Ah ok then - i did not realise you could do the same with you asx as with your pls.

Tell me if i should search - but for my own curiosity, what determines that it should move stream from the second location?

Thanks very much then!

You might not be able to. I'm kinda taking a swing in the dark. Perhaps you could mess around with the .asx code and see if any variations are successful.
