By the way, single life is like anything else - bad or good depending on how you look at it. Though I disliked it on short, rare occasions, I had a hell of a great time when I was single.

Also, changing the litter box means you most likely have a cat. Pets are good for people who feel like shit, because while I won't say they'll solve all your problems, they make it all more bearable.

Have a drink and give your cat some catnip. See who gets the most insane. It'll be entertaining.

Cats are supposed to be rather disturbed. I have one cat. A jumping cricket scares the shit out of him, but he isn't at all afraid of my three large dogs or any of the neighbor dogs. He won't even move out of the way for an approaching lawn tractor when he's laying down on the lawn, but if he sees a grasshoper hop, he jumps like someone fired a gun next to him.

He is very aware of this now, because if he sees his food gone, he'll hunt and kill as quickly as possible, sometimes finding something different from what I originally saw, which is fine by me.

You kind of missed the point. The point of the statement was that the hardest parts of life are behind you. "It's all down hill from here" refers to the ease at which life will swiftly move by as you get older and if you aren't careful you can miss it.
