I like his style of music, well most of it anyway. As for him as a person: I really don't buy the cherade (sp?) he puts on. I would agree that the majority of it is for publicity. He obviously has a very good understanding of our culture and what people want. He balances being very controversial while not being totally rejected. That in itself takes some talent. But do I think he is truly what he portrays himself to be, no I don't. However, if he is, God help us for putting someone that truely sick and twisted up on a pedestal.

He is an entertainer. While part of him is just externalizing his own self-esteem issues, I am sure that another part of him knows that being different and pissing off certain members of society will win him an automatic fan base with people who feel alienated.

I don't really like or dislike his music. In my opinion it's good, but not great or anything new. I have seen a few interviews with him, including the one in Bowling For Columbine, and while I don't always agree with his viewpoints he seems to be an intelligent person, a rare trait these days.

Plus, he shagged Rose McGowan. Kudos to him.

I've seen several TV interviews with Marilyn Manson, and he comes across as a very intelligent and free thinking person, and I have a good deal of respect for him. Yes, he does present a weird, and even (intentionally) offensive image, but this is just that, an IMAGE, and not a representation of who he really is. Basically he is the modern equivalent of all the "shock rock" bands of the 80's/early 90's.

That being said, most of his music is pretty decent, with the exception of the occasional pointless songs that are really just intended to shock/offend, especially the songs in which he points out the shallowness/hypocrisies/contradictions/intolerance which pervades modern society, and even some of the ones that are about relationships.

There are weird and messed up people out there in the world that are much more messed up than he is (and that aren`t locked up), they just aren`t famous.

As for his music, I just love to listen to his scores off the Resident Evil soundtrack while playing a FPS. It just adds to the game.

Although I have sketchy feelings for most of his music, he still has some that I can easily like. As for his public personality, he is a bit odd, i must admit. But as for his personal personality, he is very intelligent. I'm not going to shut him off even if his on-stage acts are deemed "different" from people who are considered "normal". He's just doing what he does. If you don't like it, ignore it. He's no different than (most) any other living person.

Personally I think he's one of those people who... feeds off of negative/shock reactions of others. The problem with celebrities who live off of shock is that they become passe in a blink of an eye...

I'm sure the E! network already has produced a true hollywood story for him, and they have dispatched their evil E! conspirators to sell him cheap drugs/sabotaged car/sabotaged plane/ for the eventual OD/car crash/plane crash, just like the rest of the shock artists.

At the moment I'm:

• Working in a job that I don't like.
• Continuously dream of being somewhere else.
• Always planning to follow my dreams "sometime"
• Making just enough money to pay my bills.

He's:

• An entertainer in a profession of his choice.
• Doing what he set out to do from the beginning - living his dream.
• Making more money in a year than I will in my lifetime.

Who should you be more afraid of becoming? Him, or me......

Yes, well the moment I see an "artist" from any mainstream/teenybopper group give an intelligent interview is the moment that I start giving these people some respect...and it hasn't happened yet. So far all I've seen are shallow remarks about things such as fashion, and image, and other such bullshit which has come to be popularized by the mainstream, and people who would concern themselves with such things simply aren't worth my time.

I disagree, I'm no rap fan, but I'd see that movie, as the previews make it look decent and the reviews I've read so far are positive...eminem may be pretty mainstream, but he's nowhere near as braindead as most other "pop" artists, so his movie is worth a shot.
