Proper PNG Support in Internet Explorer Petition

After doing some research, I have found that many alternate browsers such as Mozilla and Safari have full support of png images, including alpha channels. For a complete list of browser conpatitbility for full png support please visit this website. I have also found a petition to Microsoft to develop Proper PNG Support in Internet Explorer which currently holds 16787 signitures. I ask that anyone here who is a website designer, or supports the move to png as a standard image format please sign this petition.

I believe Photoshop, Paintshop Pro, and Gimp are all capable of creating and editing png files.

The PNG format is a World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) recommendation, and I can't see why Internet Explorer whould not follow that standard. Here is a good example of why IE should have png support.

http://indigofield.com/

View this site in IE, see how bad it looks. Then try viewing it in Safari, Netscape, Camino or Mozilla. (Don't use Firefox or Opera for this example, the pngs render fine, but the tables are a bit off.) See how much png support can add to IE?

Please sign this petition and support the move to a better Image Format.
