Happy Birthday, mikm!

He has just turned 21. Give the good man a beer!

Spiral out, my friend. You will find your way back to yourself, we all will.
I'll be waiting, and shall see you on the other side...

I cracked open a Guinness at midnight, I think that counts as good

I hated the Guinness I tried. As long as you liked it.

Nope, that doesn't count.

Guinness is far superior to the inadequate label of "good". Guinness sets the standard of greatness.

I will admit it's an acquired taste though - can't go there from a light beer and expect to like it. Start with some lagers, then ales, then dark ales, then porters, and finally after that, stout will be not only good, but better than what it took to get there.

Holy shit! You certainly didn't spare any expense when looking for the good stuff. I really like it, although it is rather pricy. I wasn't lucky enough to get the box that is shown on your picture - just the bottle.

Some thoughts...

Ah shit, I remember reading your review but forgot about it when I was Googling reviews/in the store. Otherwise I might have stuck with getting the 1780. Oh well. It's supposed to be treat and I'm not disappointed that I got it.

You made absolutely no mistake whatsoever. Redbreast is really great stuff, and putting a high or low price won't change my high opinion of it. Plus, some other people have different opinions than I do, saying one or the other is better, meaning Redbreast might be better for you than anything else.
