Question maki: screen resolution detection..layer.fx: flip/rotate

does maki allow me to detect screen resolution and to move a whole container around the screen?

[edit]does anybody know how to flip/rotate a layer using the fx functions, unfortunately can't find any documentation by Nullsoft[/edit]

Well, you can use the System.getViewportWidth(), System.getViewportHeight(), System.getViewportLeft() and
System.getViewportTop() to get the values you need I think. You could then use the GuiObject.Resize(...) method to move the container around.

What exactly do you want to do? if you just want to rotate it, use the rotation library. (looking winamp3\lib, where std.mi is)

or if you want to mirror it, thats a little different, but still it shouldn't be all that hard.

I will gladly help, however, I have a physics midterm on Wednesday. This shouldn't be an issue, although I have yet to do any of the work for any of the stuff thats on the test. So I will be doing physics hard core tonight and tomorrow. I'll definately get to it on wednesday, but I can make no promises about until then.

Its not hard to do really, for horizontal mirroring onGetPixelX(...) you simply return -x. the same logic applies for vertical.

What I would propose to do would be allow mirroring along other lines as well, i.e. y=x.

So if thats all the info you need go for it but, otherwise sorry but the real world must take priority.

Might I ask what you doing that you need to mirror dynamically? That is why you can't just mirror it with PS and then just use it?

a big thanks HollowEarth, thats all the info needed,
i'm really sorry i've disturbed your preparation for your physics test, i'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you anyway

don't know if you will find this interesting, but im trying to animate a bird - bird flying around the screen
so when it reaches a corner, it changes the direction of flying (images are rotated and mirrored) if i do all the animations with PS the result will be a really great filesize
thanks again, your work awaits you

(my English sucks)
