I don't mean to sound like an ass, but you might have considered just dragging yourself to class anyway, even if you couldn't fully pay attention. Even if not for attendance, I always found that even going to class and only half being able to pay attention is far better than missing a class.

Never underestimate the bandwidth of a station wagon full of tapes hurtling down the highway.

Yeah, that's true K_rock. I normally hate taking days off and it's not something which I decide lightly. I went in yesterday and it really sucked because I had a sore throat and couldn't talk right. Today just took the piss though. I started riding my bike and just kept coughing and coughing, my nose was running and it was the coldest morning I've experianced this year. My mum rang my tutors and they said that because it was the last two days of term that I wouldn't be missing anything. It was just a doss-week really.

Definately Zoot, it's just a damn horrible feeling when your head feels like it's being squashed. Feeling a lot better since I ate a bowl full of Scottish porridge oats however.

I've had to go to class sick a lot. I had mono and it it just wouldn't go away so I had no choice but to go to class. Even if you fall asleep for some of the class, you were still awake for some, and that's better than nothing like krock said - you can always xerox a trusted friend's notes for the time you were asleep. If you stay in bed you miss out on all that.

I'm at work today with a bad cold. Which would pretty much be fine if it weren't for the fact that talking loud (and for me, "loud" is pretty much "normal") puts me into a coughing fit. It'll be a quieter office than normal when coworkers turn up, I think!

I'm immune to all disease. The last time I was seriously sick was July of 2000.

Send yourself over to medical science right now, and they can make a syrum from your body.

Get well soon Zootm, eat some porridge with loads of sugar.

Walk past a hospital. That's all it takes for me. My mom ends up in the hospital a lot. In the last three years, I've caught 6 flus and norwalk virus. I'm allergic to the flu shot, so I'm screwed there.

I worked with the public for years and would get a sniffle once in a while.... Hospitals do it to me every time....

Last year, the Norwalk virus ended me up in the hospital because I got so dehydrated. Then I got the flu.

I hope this winter does a little better. As usual I got sick when my mom went in the hospital 3 weeks ago. It isn't too bad though.... Nothing that slowed me down much....

You're better off without the flu vaccine, that shit has mercury in it. I'd rather get the flu a few times than get Alzheimer's or some other FUBAR illness down the road.

Many flu vaccines have been reformulated without the tiny, tiny amount of mercury they had in them.

You would be shocked at, say, some of the residual solvents something like, say, any over the counter pain killer has in it....

You would die if you knew what was in the chemo drugs; lesser of two evils it is. It is a race between the cancer and the "side effects" that WILL be caused by the meds...

Suck it up. Every drug on the market is a trade off between what you got and what it is going to do to you... Just accept that is how medicine works.

Those flu shots were never intended for the healthy. They were intended for people who had something like AIDS and the common cold could kill them; fuck a little mercury won't hurt them...

People used to play with mercury. They didn't all die from it's side effects

@ fc*uk
Indeed.

They didn't all die but quite a few went mad, twitchy and/or stupid. It's where the saying "mad as a hatter" comes from, because hatters used mercury to treat felt.
