sc_trans with dynamic playlist

is it possible to use sc_trans with a dynamically created *.lst?

I wrote a simple bradcasting-system wich plays random songs from an internal playlist, but is also able to insert user-requested songs from a website. Unfortunately the system uses perl + mpg123 + lame, wich is not so good after all and does't make crossfading, wich is possible im sc_trans i think.
So i thought it were better to use sc_trans in combination with my scripts to generate the playlist.

Here is what I do at radio.whoa.org.

Initial sc_trans startup: Create playlist.lst, start sc_trans
Upon request: Modify playlist.lst, do 'kill -USR1 sc_trans_pid'. If I want the song change to happen right away I do a 'kill -WINCH sc_trans_pid'.

Works for me.
