Bandwidth questions

I have a 125kbps upload speed on a 512k modem.
Does this in any way limit the amount of users I can support?

(I'm runnin g a station at 24kbps)

Send a message via ICQ to matt2kjones Send a message via AIM to matt2kjones
every user that connects to your stream will take 24k

1 user = 24k
2 users = 48k
3 users = 72k
4 users = 96k

Plus, you have to leave a little bandwidth free for overhead

so four users

It's a tight squeeze, to be sure.

You can also send a single stream (eg. 24k, 56k, 96k)
to a remote server, like streamguys.com, and then serve
as many streams as your mate can afford.

For example, a 20 concurrent listener station at
streamguys is only about $20/month @ 24k.
