I really, really don't think that Nullsoft are waiting for Winamp 2.99 before they release WA3 final.

Am I the only one that gets a connection timeout error? I've tried restarting and that didn't help. I went so far as to boot into linux, and that didn't help. So it's not a problem with my computer. Can everyone else get it?

I hope not...

I'd personally rather see them get winamp 3 out of beta than keep updating wa2.

Part from About Winamp
* new splash screen
* updated winamp agent to support both winamp 2.x and 3.x
* better win9x compatibility for DirectSound
* waveOut made skip less
Thats good, a new Splash screen
Whoo, thats great. Now the files can be opened in Winamp3?
Thank you, Winamp2.79 sucked at DirectSound output. It was worse than Winamp2.78 somehow because of the DirectSound plugin.

I think they are going to continue working on both. I think the 2.x line is sort of Justin's little labor of love. He wants to make it as good as possible before finally setting it aside forever.

Of course, I could be wrong. There might be little aliens in his brain forcing him to continue working on it because they use it to control their music-powered spacecraft.
