Milkdrop Lineout function

I am in charge of my church's youth multimedia department and we LOVE milkdrop, but we also loves itunes playlist capabilities. I know that there is a line-in function for Winamp which allows us to use milkdrop with things we are recording, for instance someone speaking on stage. But, is there a line-out function where mildrop will visualize everything leaving a computer output?

BTW I would really appreciate it if someone could e-mail the answer to me (although this is obviously optional). My e-mail is mattrw89@gmail.com

It is all actually very simple, your video card has probably 3 outputs a digital, analog and S-video. Depending on the monitor, TV or screen you plan on hooking up you need the proper cable. You can actually use all 3 if you like. Then go to you video card properties and set the ones you want. Then you can view milkdrop. There is other settings and what not, but I am sure you can figure it out (trial and error). SM

? I am not sure you understand SM. I think he is asking if when running another program like iTunes instead of Winamp to play music will MilkDrop then run.

AFAIK no it will not.

Tell winamp to play the line input, in the volume control panel, options>properties - select "recording".

Under "show the following volume controls" select "Wave Out Mix" or "What U Hear" [same thing, but different sound cards give it a different name].

Click ok.

Check the "select" box under "Wave Out Mix" or "What U hear"

The winamp playing the line input should now recognize the sound going out. It's possible this might not work with some sound cards, it should work with sound blaster cards.

Try that and get back to us..

i imagine it would work somwhat like the feature where you can use your own voice to make milkdrop's waves move. "or any other sound.
