More formats...more winamp types...

I think winamp should support even the small and minor formats. And Why winamp can't see pictures and edit them... that with be cool...

that is why there are plugins. small formats are wasteful if they are packaged with the winamp installer. Plugins are your friend.

Album art or just pictures? Its an mp3 player! If you do want pictures try image'in winamp

Album art, try album list or toaster

really, for lesser/newer formats, i think it's best to keep them separate and developed by people who know what they're doing/have an interest in that format. that way you're more likely to get a better plugin (is how it's worked for the few that i've followed ). but everyone's views will be different ofcourse

DrO, I think at some point in our infinite free time (hahaha) we should develop and release a 'reference' input plugin to help developers better understand how to take advantage of some of the newer Winamp API features like direct decoding, replaygain, global playback config, metadata. With some cleanup, in_flac might be a good candidate for this

well yes, that's true, a true reference input plugin would be a good thing to have (since some aspects are just not really documented with decent example code - like gutenberg's documentation on the metadata stuff eclipses the nullsoft documentation aka what documentation ). you'd better start on the cloning efforts then, i'm sure people will be willing to wait at least 10 years, lol
