[MP3ENC] nnnnnn/44100/2/96000 mp3Setup Error opening mp3 encoder instance. code=2

sc_trans2 is giving the subject error. Purchased a mp3 key but cannot find where 'Default Auth Hash' is obtained, if that is the problem....

the error appears to be you've setup some settings for the mp3 encoder which aren't supported in how they've been specified. not knowing what you've set then i can't say much more.

based on the reference to 'Default Auth Hash', i assume you're using the configuration builder to make the config files. if so then 'Default Auth Hash' is for the DNAS so it can run in YP2 mode (as explained in the help area at the top right) and doesn't relate to the Transcoder.

to get an authhash, at the moment you'll need to follow http://forums.winamp.com/showpost.ph...0&postcount=46 though i'm now off for the rest of the weekend so it'll be monday before i can sort that out for you now.

Thanks. I went to the stable 32 bit version of sc_serv and things seem to work except for '[SHOUTCASTMETADATA] waitToSend - sendTitle title response returned error. HTTP/1.0 401 Unauthorized' which I think is on the aac stream.

that points to possibly not setting the Transcoder to work in v1 legacy mode (as i'm guessing you're trying to use the v1 DNAS by 'stable 32 bit' so i didn't need to make an authhash if that was going to be the case). as i don't generally use / test against the v1 DNAS, it could be a bug in the current version of the Transcoder or i'm not too sure (generally i think it's easier to use all v2 tools if you're going to be using the v2 Transcoder) and use the config builder to get configs that will work for both the DNAS and Transcoder in one go to avoid such issues.

I commented out the 2nd aac instance and it runs clean now. This is with sc_trans2.
It looks like:

;endpointname_1=endpoint1
;outprotocol_1=1
;serverip_1=192.168.1.nn
;serverport_1=8000
;uvoxstreamid_1=2
;uvoxuserid_1=admin
;uvoxauth_1=apassword

Thanks for the help!

if you're connecting to a v1 DNAS then there can only be 1 source so if both encoders are trying to connect to the v1 DNAS then that's the most likely cause of the failure if things don't match up.

really if you want to provide multiple streams, you can either use a v2 DNAS (which is designed for just that) and change the Transcoder to run in v2 mode, or you need to run 2 separate v1 DNAS's and configure the Transcoder to work with each instance accordingly.

Hello DrO,
I see that you are very active on winamp forrums, maybe you can help me with sc_trans.

I set up all and running, purchased one mp3 licens from winamp.
My problem is when I set the server with config bulder to mpr encoding the sc_trans is exiting.
So again with the aac it is working wel, but not with the mp3 encoder.
When I purchased the encoder license the Transcoder MP3 unlock name wasant included in the mail, just the code, so I read a thread started where you did responde, and I thought that the name is the purchasers name.
the purchase was made from Winamp - Order Confirmation (Order #18729333524), the mail come from orders@store.winamp.com

Hope I gave you all the needed information about my problem.

Thank you in advance for your help, I will post this on the thread as well.

With Best Wishes,
GTB

the unlock details you've put in your configuration file are fine - you wouldn't be getting any messages about the encoder trying to be opened if things were not correct. so the license is not an issue.

most likely, you've done something with the mp3mode option and would need to remove that option (having it set to anything other than zero will cause an issue like you are having).

it would be easier with the actual sc_trans config file rather than trying to re-build it from the config_builder settings. would be easier if you send me a pm and copy+paste the contents of the whole file please.

another configuration error which triggers this same error "mp3Setup Error opening mp3 encoder instance. code=2" is the bitrate.

bit rate must be
bitrate=64000
not bitrate=64

I know this is an old thread but my answer may help someone to save hours of search (sadly i did)
