All the Vice City Fans out there

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox/adventu...s_6085346.html

I'm not sure if this is a good thing or bad thing. Anyway, if you own a copy of GTA: Vice City or double pack or whatever that features it, I would hold on to it.

I'm Back?

although changing the game because a few people complain is total bull, i cant say im surprised they did.

now only if they changed the game so it didnt rely on these cheap shots and mindless violence.

What nonsense, another example of people not being able to seperate fact from fiction, where will it all end?, some of the clothes depicted in GTA VC offend my fashion sense, shall I complain?

Or do you think there might now be an uprising from every "group" around that feels it might have been wronged in someway? next thing you'll here is that the league of Italian plumbers have sued Nintendo because of grievious harm that befalls Mario on lots of occasions....

The world is litigation crazy, and the only people who benefit are the lawyers.

GTA practically asks people to get mad at it.

No, I'm comparing the fact that there will always be a minority, a group, an individual who will take offence to something and create a holy hell stink , thus forcing a change in something.

It happens all over the place, latest example of this insanity , and this may be a bit fuzzy as it's a few days since I read about it, but Christmas cards depicting christian scenes, such as the nativity, have been outlawed in certain offices around the UK, because it offended a Muslims religious beliefs, so the warning goes around, be carefull what you send to your collegues, you never know who you might upset and what trouble it could get you in.

Another example, a prison guard lost his job because he made some jokey remark about Osama Bin Laden, which might have been heard by some of the Muslim prisoners.

It's politcal correctnes gone mad, point being, no matter what you do or say in life, your bound to upset someone or other, people should look past this and get on with life, it's far too short.

Everything offends me and it's not my fault for being a fucking pussy, it's your fault for expressing yourself, or following tradition, or excercising your democratic right to free speech.

Exactly how is a card bearing a corny nativity scene going to cause anyone distress? Give me a fucking break. This Haitian thing is just as bad.

the game said "kill all the haitians!"

and i know it not supposed to be taken seriously but this is where i side with "stupid americans" and not the people who are just "using free speech"

this is stupid, this is what rockstar/take-two want. they need this kind of publicity to sell the game.

you can say that people are going to complain about everything no matter what they do, and your right because they are. but this is one of those times i cant blame people for bitching and complaining.

GTA is purposly provoking people and unless you think the nativity scene has an intent to get people furious you cant compare.

Purposly provoking people? The game says "kill all the haitians" because the aim of that particular mission is to, er, kill all the haitians. The gang members that you have to kill happen to be haitian. Big deal.

Yeah, where are all the African Americans in Super Mario Brothers? Fucking racists.

(Not intended as a racist comment, btw, it's only a joke.)

This lawsuit is bullshit, but welcome to New America where the safest thing to do is sit in your house and not talk to anybody, do nothing but watch Television and live off the government.

No, it really incredibly doesn't come down to how much you like the game. It comes down to how much you like be held hostage to the whims of minority groups, especially when these are often the same minority groups whose alternate battlecry is univeral equality. It's a much larger issue than your approval of the game's aesthetics.

What lawsuits like this do is to enhance the awareness of differences between people, because without constantly worrying about what the "different" people around you think, you're likely to piss them off and lose your shirt. Instead of equality and understanding such lawsuits promote power games and perpetuate radical stereotypes.

thats not exactly what i meant....but mainly people who liked the game are willing to overlook this.

my issue isnt that they shouldnt put it in....my issue is that they WANT to have people complain so it gets tons of publicity.

@ the police cars

Has anybody figured out the real-life name of the police/taxi cars in VC. The ones in GTA3 were quite easy, 90's Ford Crown Victorias, but these? Hell they almost look like japanese datsuns/nissans, we had lots of them as taxis here in finland during the 80's. Japsiecars in Miami????

Vice city offends me too.
Tommy has a cell phone in the 80s, but whatshisname from gta3 has a pager. :P . That offends my generation.

Vice city allows you to blow cars up with your fists. I wonder if automobile manufacturers would find that offensive.

The nativity Christmas card ban thingy is just stupid. The weird part is that you will find no such ban in Islamic countries with Christian minorities.

In the 80's cell phones were the shit. Then in the 90's people found out they were expensive and switched to pagers. Now that wireless phones are cheaper people buy those.

Pagers are dirt cheap.

I dunno why thats important.

its probably more to do with the fact that all prior versions of GTA have had a pager. But in Vice City they had the oppertunity to do without it by using the mobile phone, wich in fact is actualy just a weapon with a custom animation.
